Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
I've noticed in a couple recent threads in the Mane Forum that people have been asking about wearing hair up, and it seems to me that the longer hair is, the less people seem to wear it down. I'm just curious if that's actually true.
I'm sorry that the poll categories are so broad-- I couldn't think of any better way to do it. Please explain why you wear your hair up or down, if you feel the urge.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
My hair style has a lot to do with what I'm doing that day. I work at a restaurant so my hair must be up when I work. 5 days a week.
Two days a week I'm at school and I like to leave it down so that people can see how cool my long hair is. :D
If I'm going out with some friends after work I'll take it down if it's clean.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
Well, I accidentally hit classic+ instead of BSL - Classic, but since joining LHC I wear my hair up about 80% of the time and only wear it down at home or for special occasions. I do wear it in braids, so I guess that is still considered down, but it's different than just loose.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
My hair is short-BSL and I rarely wear my hair down when I'm not at home. (and most of time time it's up even if I'm at home) I've had it down at uni once or twice this semester, but I always end up putting it up. I also wear my hair down for special occasions, like parties and things like that.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
I'm bsl-classic. I wear my hair down all the time except for when I go to sleep, I braid it.
Sometimes I braid it... but I'm looking into wearing it up more because I want to forget about my hair growth! :p
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
I'm on the shorter BSL side and wear it down most of the time because I love the way it looks. Also, it's so much easier for me to just let it down because otherwise I keep worrying about the way it looks! Did the layers pop out of my braid and make it messy? Did that weird part show up above the ponytail? Did my bun get wonky? Is my hair stick sliding out, will it catch something and break?
But when I'm at home, I pin it up so it doesn't get in the way.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
My hair is midback and I almost never put it up. Actually, almost every time I put it up it's just to keep it out of the way if I'm cooking or exercising or something. I probably should put my hair up more than I do just to reduce the wear and tear on it from getting caught on things and whatnot.
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
I'm somewhere midback and I usually wear my hair up in some way, or maybe in a halfup īdo but sometimes it's left down as well... It all depends on what I'm doing that day. If it's left down I always have a hairstick or something with me, just in case ;)
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
Are we counting braids as "up" or "down?"
Braids don't count as "loose" hair, but opinion varies on whether they count as up or down...
Re: Hair Length and Wearing Hair Up
I count a braid or braids as up. The hair is contained in a braid and protected. Maybe not quite as protected as in a bun because the tassel can be damaged. I see down as the same thing as loose. I have waist length hair and wear it up most of the time when I'm not home. I'm also one who wears my hair according to the days planned activities. I also have to take in to account the weather. Wind is horrible for my hair and I live in a very windy place. If you've read my blog you know I complain about the windy days all the time. I love wearing my hair down so I do it when I can and try to enjoy it to the max.
