Corn Starch Base Nourishing Oil Mask
I'm wondering if anyone has tried this mask I saw on OrganicallyAnna's Instagram?
Mix 1 tbsp corn starch with 150 ml water/milk and heat in a pot over medium - high heat. Stir until a creamy paste - almost conditioner consistency
Add 1 tbsp of any nourishing hair mask to the paste and 1tbsp nourishing oil.
Apply to clean damp hair, let sit for 30 minutes and then co-wash out.
Re: Corn Starch Base Nourishing Oil Mask
My first thought is "wouldn't that make a glue?"
Re: Corn Starch Base Nourishing Oil Mask
Not tried it, not going to try it (too much effort) but it sounds interesting - I'd think cooked out, with that much water, it would be okay. I don't know what benefits it would have; I'd be curious to hear if anyone does try it.
Re: Corn Starch Base Nourishing Oil Mask
Hm. I'd think milk and oil would sort of have similar results. Corn starch is more of a cleanser I think than moisturising, but it would make the concoction easier to wash out.
Nah, seems like it would be easier to just mix your hair mask with some oil.
Re: Corn Starch Base Nourishing Oil Mask
I think the only real benefit or reason for a corn starch base would be if you have fairly thin hair and need to really dilute the oil. I tried this one last night and as per usual - nothing's ever really better than SMT.
