Yesterday we went to the Renaissance Festival in Holly, MI. I got a braid : ) -- and some metal rose hair sticks.

July was also my 6th anniversary at LHC. I've been happy where I'm at, give or take a little. My biggest challenge at the moment is that I have a tear in my rotator cuff, so I can't get my hair (or my arm!) up at all. It's very painful and I'm waiting to get in to see the specialist (how I hate the insurance games). Wish me luck with that!

I wouldn't take that braid down for a week! It's awesome!
And the sticks are beautiful. I have never seen similar ones.

The sticks were only $5 each! The photo doesn't show it well, but the one stick is silver with gold.

It was kind of neat how they inserted the flower too -- it's a real flower and they pushed a hairpin through the center of the flower and then into my hair.

I love the hair sticks. The braid looks terrific. I wish my hair was that thick.

That's so pretty! I got my hair braided at a fair yesterday too. She did two 5 strand braids into one. Isn't it so nice to have someone else do your hair? I loved it.

Yes! There was a younger girl having her hair braided when mine was done. She told the lady, "I need you every morning when I get ready for school!"

It's a 5 strand braid, and it twists from the front around the back. Guess I should have taken another photo!

Yes, I'm curious to see the other side where it twists.

I asked DH to take a photo from the back.

Oh wow that is really cool. I love a braid that I can wear over my shoulder. I wish I could do something like that on my own.

Very pretty :). I like how it curves around to your opposite shoulder.

Now you can see how my dog matches me too! (In the second pic I posted.) Penny is a Golden Retriever with a haircut because she LOVES to swim!

Awh a matching doggie. That is so cute. I think I'd have a hard time finding a matching cat.

That braid is so cool! :D I'm glad you posted another picture because I was wondering how the other side looked. That's interesting how they used a real flower like that. I would've never thought of that. The sticks are pretty too.

I can't wait. I think I'm going in 2 or 3 weeks. I was supposed to go this up coming weekend, but my sister is having a labor day party. I want to do both, so the fair is getting delayed.

Thanks! I think it's a fun thing to do when we go to one.

We may get a chance to go again before it ends, it would be nice to visit on a cooler day.

That is really pretty! I'd never take it out lol. I don't really know what a Renaissance Festival is but I think I want to go to one now. Your hair is so healthy looking, no sticky out broken hairs down your braid. You must really treat your hair good!

Jorja, here's a link to their website if you wanted to see the types of events that take place, maybe you can find one in your location. It is fun to see the costumes people wear, and the ones that are for sale. Plenty of fun shopping, my wallet was depleted upon leaving!

Thanks for the hair comment, I do try to treat it nicely : ). The braider was using aloe vera gel while she was braiding -- I'm sure that helped to keep the hair in place.

Thanks Cindy58, Oh that looks such a good day out. I love all the craft sellers. I'm in the wrong country, nothing like that in England, that I know of. I could spend days wandering round there. Love the look of the entertainment too lol.
