View Full Version : Greasy piece of hair

So... when my hair is dry, I do a little treatment (that's normal, right?)

Before I shampoo I do a prewash (coconut oil), after I shampooed, I put on extra conditioner and I let it sit for 5minutes. Then I rinse it out (for 15 minutes I guess).

But when I let my hair dry, there's always one little piece of my hair that is still greasy. It's really weird because I rinse that piece for about 10 minutes (and the rest of the hair 5 minutes)

What should I do? Not condition that part of my hair?

This is how it looks

Sometimes it's really bad

I'd say your problem is the result of too much stuff on your hair.

Omit the pre-wash and try just shampooing with a conditioning afterwards.

Also, what you're using might be too heavy. Perhaps diluting it might work better on your hair.

Thank you for the quick reply! I'll dilute my conditioner (with water?)

This is what I do if I do pre-wash oiling with coconut or any other oil - I first apply a very light non-coney conditioner (that has been approved for CO washing) to my scalp and hair (all the parts that were oiled) and let it sit for at least 3 minutes, max 5. Then I rinse it with warm water and then I apply shampoo (I dilute), massage, leave on for a couple of minutes, rinse thoroughly again, then apply nourishing/moisturising conditioner only to my length and ends, rinse with warm and then cold water.

The initial use of conditioner is the part that gets rid of most oil. Before I found out about this, I also often had some oily parts left after washing my hair. It drove me crazy and thanks to that I stopped oiling my hair for a long time.

Now I oil my hair 1-2 times a month and it seems to be enough.

Good luck!
