Is there any way to avoid the huge bump at the beginning of the waves??? I've tried several different ways of wrapping:( and it's much more pronounced than it looks in the picture

yup high buns work better for waves. I know you said youve tried different wrapping styles but try to wrap in a way the the bump indents instead of sticking out like it does now. indents mellow out better than bumps. good luck

I've had that bump so many times. I agree, higher is better.
Maybe try two buns...one higher and one below it. Make your top bun from the hair that starts at your forehead to about your ears, like a half up. If you want different size waves, you could make one bun with more hair.
You could also try the buns next to eachother. My hair is so fine and straight that it kinda gives me a part all day to my nape. But you might not have that problem. Give them both a try to find out which looks better.
The beauty of two buns is even more waves! Yaaay!! :D
