How do you wear your hair when you are working out. Lately I have been running on the treadmill frequently and I also do hot bikram yoga about twice a week. I don't know how to wear my hair though! I tend to shed a lot during/after I work out and have massive tangles. How do you wear your hair to prevent tangles and shedding? I tried braids but I think that contributes more to my shedding.

I usually french braid my hair, but sometimes after a while the braid falls out. What you could try is a nautilus bun, with two hair sticks/forks, they hold pretty well.

Now that I think about it, I usually just braid it and deal with the damage when I'm done. Generally I get home, take out the braids, load it up with coconut oil, leave it in for a couple minutes, and then gently comb it and take a shower with lots of conditioner.

I'm not really sure what else you can do! I'd love to hear if somebody else had some good ideas

I usually do a French braid that I bun in a Nautilus held by a large flexi-8. I run, and go diving like that, and it helds like a rock.

For hot yoga I wear mine in a bun.

I wear it in 2 braids, wound round my head, with a stretchy headband over it. The band keeps it in place without any pins or clips so it's comfortable and keeps any body sweat away from my hair.

I know nothing about yoga but I weight lift and I like a pony tail. I also do floor exercises.

I don't wear it down, I wear it up: french braids, buns, french rolls, and etc.

I wear a pencil bun or a cinnamon bun, secured with a hair stick and/or 3 inch hair pins. Holds pretty well for running and such. My bun stays dry to, so I can scalp only wash when I feel like it. Helps preserve my ends.

When I run I like to bun and secure it with a 4 prong fork, my gratoe is brilliant for this and hold like a rock

French or Dutch braid, pinned to the back and top of my head with 3" Amish pins. Add an elastic headband to hold back my bangs, and I'm good to go.

I wear it in a braided nautilus bun held with a single hairstick for running and other forms of cardio and that holds like a rock. I have yet to figure out a good style for mat exercises that require lying down. So far I just use a single english braid but that flops around a lot. I did try hair taping once and that worked pretty well but it takes me a long time and it hardly seems worth it if I have to take my hair back down to wash it after a workout anyway.

I wear a french braid when running and HIIT, usually with the end tucked up and pinned. I'm not quite APL though, and my hair is very fine, so I don't have too much to work with. When I do hot yoga, or when I'm lifting weights I do a topknot. I've tried doing a topknot for running but it never holds.
