I was just wondering about this, because I suddenly realized, I'm going to be coming up on the longest my hair has ever been (26") very soon. I'm very excited to break this record! :D

How about everyone else? Is your hair the longest it's ever been, right now? Or are you working your way back there? Please share :)

This [41.5"] is the longest my hair has ever been.. it had been maybe waist-length in like kindergarten, then by 2nd grade I'd gotten a bob [HORRIBLE :D]. Then, in 4th grade I got a pixie and maintained that until HS. Then, I'd start letting it grow out and get close to shoulder or so and cut it right back off... went through that for years before I finally got tired of going to get my hair cut, or not going and having my short styles grow out and get ratty.. now I can cut it myself, and I'm shooting for fingertip [47"]. :disco:

I have a really bad taper and much of that is because of layers...My shortest is like an inch past my nape! That is shorrrttt.
I do recognize that I chopped a lot off of my layers this last year in hopes of trimming out previous damage. Sometimes I would chop a half inch a month- so it makes total sense!

I've definitely never had longer as a child because my mom never knew how to untangle my curls properly so she kept it around shoulder length usually. My mini goal is 27", because that would be finally making it past my longest length (26") without getting a trim. It seems whenever I get to 25" or 26" I always need a trim. My last trim left me at about 24.5", and I'm about 25" again now.

I can't wait for it to be longer. I'm going to try no trims in 2013, see how that goes. I know that I still have damage, but honestly, I think trimming off a couple inches at once would be better than only getting an inch or so at a time. Hmmm someone should start a thread about that! I'd def join ;D

I wasn't even aware of this, I always thought bsl or just a little longer, but I was looking at a few old(er) pictures and found 2 pictures taken a few years apart where my hair was more than half way between bsl and waist. But it looks terrible in both, thin and with tapered ends.

I'm near it now...I was at solid waist years ago, dyed it black (after wanting to for decades!!) and HATED it...ended up cutting to chin-length to get rid of it

I'm tickling waist now, but need to cut off old, dyed hair to be at my first goal of virgin hair then, it'll be back to waist or maybe longer

I've just not yet decided when/how I will take off the dyed hair

I was at 31" in January and I cut a few inches off because my ends were just awful and I got frustrated. That was the longest I've been. I'm at 29" as of my last measurement March 1, so we'll see how I do March 31! ^^;

The longest it's ever been without being pregnant is 27.5 inches. I have a short terminal. I've cut it since hitting that so now I'm around 26.5

My hair is now shortest that it has never been, so kind of the opposite :D. Now I'm growing it though, working my way back to BSL length that I once had.

I am now quite hopeful about getting back to the longest I've ever been--BSL stretched. I'm about apl stretched and a solid shoulder curly, after 10 months on LHC.
We'll see if I can get past BSL stretched. I'd love to be BSL curly. I'm hopeful about that too as I'm finding that with LHC methods, my shrinkage is way, way less that it used to be.

My longest hair length is my avatar picture, which was taken about 6 years ago. Unfortunately I was being bullied at school so I had no idea how long or indeed how lovely it looked...I only realised yesterday that it was nearly at waist length! I can't wait until it's that long again :o

Tailbone/BCL, which is... right now, in fact! After 26 years of growing it to BSL only to chop it back into a bob and then back again, I'm finally at the length I've always wanted.

I've never been able to grow it longer than tailbone, but I hope that I'll be able to grow it longer now, after my big chop. Trying to take very good care of it - lots of oil treatments, minimal mechanical damage. I still refuse to give up the black dye though, but I'm looking for a non-peroxide/ammonia alternative. I know there are plenty of deposit-only dyes out there, but unfortunately I'm on a college budget.

My longest was BSL, 2 months ago. Unfortunately I got a bit scissor happy, and I'm back at APL-BSL abyss. But I'll get there. I've sworn off trimming, so I think BSL in 3 months, MBL by christmas. My hair grows slowly. :)

Currently I'm beating my longest hair record, my hair was at shoulder, and every time it grew to apl I would have it cut back to shoulder. The reason for this was that apparently it looked like rats tails because at that length my curls would become apparent and the length needed to be increased to decrease the volume. At 16 I started growing it out.. Now I'm at 24" bsl and aiming for waist.
Somany parents don't understand or underestimate their child's hair, if they can't rip a brush through it in seconds then they cut it :(

Mine was almost tailbone (probably an inch and a half away) in March of 2012, but then I cut it back to waist since the ends were looking a bit thin (and I had a very important first date with my now-husband, and wanted to make sure my hair was as pretty as possible :) ). I'm almost back there though!

The longest mine has been was about halfway down my thigh.

I trimmed it back to tail bone when I stood on my plait by mistake when I was crouched down looking at the bottom shelf in a shop tho... my poor hair... :)
