Anyone have their hair texture change over the years?

I thought I seen another thread about this but couldn't find it.

In the 70's I had long stick straight hair. In the 80's and 90's I had layerd permed hair mostly. In the 2000's short hair. Now that I'm growing it out, one length. I have noticed waves. :hmm: When I first came here I thought I was a 1a. Now, I see that I'm a 1c maybe 2a. I will have to wait until my hair gets longer to see what those waves are going to do.

Anyways, I'm so excited and surprised to have waves now. :cheese:

Maybe once there's more length to weigh it down it'll straighten out again. Mine is about a 3a when it's shorter and now I'm thinking that it might even be in the 1 ranges.

I think mine was mostly due to no cones anymore. I think I am going to have to at least upgrade to 1b now. With the shampoo bars I have noticed definate waves. I love it! Also those wiry grays are moving in. I dont know how that will impact it as they keep coming in.

I would have thought it was impossible for hair to chang texture, but my mom's is doing the same thing yours is. Hers was straight as a board when she was younger, and now that she is growing hers with me, it has become wavy. I'm so jealous!

Yes, mine has changed. When I was younger it was so straight. I had perms which would fall out after just 2 weeks as it would not even hold the curl.

I am noticing now that my hair has become wavy. I'm not sure exactly at what point this has happened as I thought it had become frizzy from having highlights put in. Did'nt realise it was trying to curl.

I'm still learning how to deal with my hair as it is all new to me. I don't like putting products in my hair as most of them make me itch.

Paper, I had had stick straight hair with bend in the ends all my life and when I joined I typed myself 1A too. Very soon I noticed I got bodywave forming, and very soon after that I noticed I had developed full blown waves. I have typed myself now as 1C/2A, but my underlayer is more like 2B and canopy is 1C. :) My hair has also become more thick and more M than F. I have hard time keeping up, lol!

Definitely. I had stick straight hair until I was about 6 and then all of a sudden it turned really curly, then when I turned 13 it calmed down a bit and was just wavy.

It's about the same right now, although I think better care and attention has made the texture a little more coarse and the waves are a lot better defined.

Sounds like we're hair twins.

My DH noticed the waves in my hair last night. He asked me what I did, he said it looked like I just took rollers out of my hair. He said I looked swanky :eyebrows: lol

My hair has changed textures many times also. It changed dramatically when I hit puberty and went all crazy and curly and frizzy on me. I loved it once I learned how to work with it though! Now my hair is a crazy in between, probably due to chemical dyeing. I'm hoping the curl will come back with healthier hair routines!
