I know what you're thinking--bleaching? that's bad enough, but without developer? wat?!

When I was in beauty school I came into pocession of a large reel of hair for extentions. I had it laying around, and, bored with my hair yet again, I decided I might bleach and/or color them some funky colors and glue them onto mini bobbypins and viola, instant, fun extentions. However, I have no developer. I have no idea how that happened, either, because I ALWAYS have a bottle on hand!

So since this isn't the hair on my head, and I don't really care what's done to it, is there any way to bleach it without developer? And any way to color those funky pieces without any actual dye? Maybe food coloring, or chalking (anyone heard of that?)

I just want to do something fun with them to keep my mind occupied.

I have no idea about bleaching without developer but some food dyes can be used to dye hair and apparently so can kool-aid. I've never tried either since there's not much possibility of getting my hair light enough to try it, but here are a couple of youtube tutorials.

You need developer to activate the bleach.

You need developer to activate the bleach.Yes, I figured, but I thought maybe there was some way to activate it that wasn't exactly hair-friendly that you normally wouldn't use, because I don't feel like spending money. But I guess I'll just go buy some.
