I'm pretty sure my hair suffers from a multiple personality disorder. :p
Before joining LHC, I cut off all the damage from heat and dye, (changed my hair care routine even before that), and I thought my hair turned from really frizzy, unmanageable and pretty wavy to straight. Now I see, it was probably just damage that made it that frizzy and unmanageable and enhanced the waves a bit.
When I came here, I classified my hair as 1c, because I found out I have some slight wave left.
Then I stopped combing my hair after every wash, and I found some more wave, so I changed classification to 1c/2a. Waves almost disappear a day after washing though.
But 2 days ago, I was swimming in the lake and when my hair dried, I noticed... wurls!? Now I'm really interested, what would salt water do.
This is my hair washed and finger combed. I didn't clarify because I get breakage easily, if I do it when not really needed. And I have to finger combed it at least, because I wash my hair up side down.

When I comb it, it looks like this:

And this is after I came from the lake. I didn't even finger comb.

Maybe the difference is not that noticeable from the pictures, but I definitely felt it.

I'd call that 2b. Your post-lake hair looks great!

I would say 2b as well, but it might even become 2b/2c or 2c if you keep encouraging the wurls! Nice hair! :D

Going by the first lake photo, I'd go 2b/2c. Gorgeous wurls! :) Maybe look into the Curly Girl method to bring them out more?

Like like a full 2b to me! Maybe you should not wash upside down so you don't have to finger comb?

Judging from your lake pics, I'd say 2b.

Is it possible that your hair gets wavier/curlier the longer it gets? Mine is like this, at shoulder length and shorter, it is just poofy with some spirals underneath, then as the length of the hair catches up with the wavelength of the curls, the true curl pattern comes out. If you cut a bunch of damage out, maybe you cut your hair too short for the wave to show up? This is obviously just a thought as I'm only seeing the pics you have just posted and don't know your past lengths. If your hair was longer in the past, was it wavier?

Yup, I'd say 2b. Man, those lake photos are gorgeous!(though I really like the other ones too! :D). My hair gets like that if I swim in the sea...which I do whenever I get the chance:lol:. Maybe we are hair twins, who knows!? ^ ^

Your hair is beautiful!!
(And I see you're in Slovenia! Slovenia is top on my list of places to visit someday! You have a beautiful country!!)

Mine does the same! I am even considering washing my hair in salt water every now and then to bring out my waves. I guess my hair gets too weighted down with moisture. When I get out of the lake, my hair looks 2a/2b, my airdry with just shampoo is about 1c/2a, and my regular was is 1c.
I'm seriously confused with everything I try, because the hair I want seems so anti-lhc, anti-health!
Which is worse, salt water or heat?

Yeah, that really looks very 2b to me, maybe even 2c with some different care. I love when hair types aren't always what they seem!

It's approaching 2C, I think. I see a few spirals starting to form, but I think they need more length to fully express themselves.

2b it is!:D Yay, looks like I'm officially a wavy then. :)
Thank you all for your help and compliments!:flower: You all have gorgeous hair, also those that I can't see the pictures of, I'm sure. ;)
pepperminttea, I will look it up, thank you!:) Co-washing scares me a bit though, I'm afraid, I would shed more after it.
Quixii, I rinse my hair with cold water, but I can't stand cold or even a bit colder showers.shudder: That's why, I wash up side down. I might try it when it's really hot outside. ;)
lilliemer, when my hair was longer (and when I already started to use oil and such), I had 1c or 1c/2a length and almost curly ends. But the ends were thin end damaged. Well, I remember that it got pretty spirally after swimming in the sea.
Lucky_Lucy, thank you! I really have to try the sea water this year.:D
Miss Maisie, it's really nice to hear that, I hope you get the chance to visit us!:) I recommend the Gorenjska region, there are beautiful lakes, rivers, woods and mountains. :D
mzBANGBANG, I also considered washing in salt water in my teens, when my hair was curly. It looked so good after swimming in the sea. But I didn't do it then. I think the heat would be worse than just occasionally washing in salt water. But I can't be sure. Heat free curling methods are pretty hair friendly.

^Yay, you're a wavy! Maybe you'll become a wurly someday (who knows, maybe even a curly girl)! :D
Also, not to hijack the thread, but I found it interesting to hear a few of you talking about salt water making your hair more curly...this could be a stupid question, but I wonder if it has the same clarifying effect as baking soda, since they're both salts? And hence, it brings out the waves and curls more... :hmm:

Baking soda just made my hair more frizzy and wiry...

Haha, yeah, it makes mine pretty frizzy as well, but it does have a clarifying effect at least... :p
