I like their:
-GVP joico k-pak. I think it works better than the salon brand, plus cheaper-huge plus!
-African Royale Hot Six oil; has so many good oils in it. I also use it on my face.
-Biotera conditioners
-Argan oil deep treatments; not sure of the brand. I'm at work so I can't go check
-I also like Manic Panic, Vanille.
-Wella haircolor line
-Silk elements glossing serum (something like that)
That is all I can think of right now. I'll post more later as they come to me :)

Thanks for the input, ladies :) I've seen the tangle teezer mentioned here and a couple other places. I'm going to check that out and also the GVP conditioning balm. I really like the GVP products so I'd love to give that a try.

I don't have curly hair, but I imagine it would make straight hair soft too...?

I second the Argon Oil! I had a girl with hair somewhat like mine (she worked there) and swore by it! I tried it and it was actually good! I have in-between ethnic hair so I was a little iffy... its good tho! :)

Toupe clips (think a mix between a clippie and a hair comb). I use them to secure snoods at the front/top of my head.

I've been wondering about the soy hair color. I saw it there n almost bought it but I'm scared to change brands/colors ever since I found my fav. The saying if it ain't broke don't fix it comes to mind =p

So my friend called and asked me if I wanted to go to Sally's with her today and how could I ever say no?! Even if I don't plan on buying anything, I always do. I can't just look, what's the point lol. Anyhow, I boght something that I am SO excited to try: "As I Am CoconutCoWash cleansing conditioner." It was only $6.99 on special cuz it's new. I saw on their website that it got rated 5 stars out of 25 reviews so it must be good. It has tangerine, coconut oil, saw palmetto, and castor oil in it-just naming a few. I also bought the tangle teezer, glass nail file, nail polish and the GVP Matrix conditioning balm all thanks to this post. Glad I got other's input so now I can try some new products that just might end up being my beauty staples. YAY =) Also decided to go ahead and get a sample size on the aphogee 2 step protein treatment for old times sake, ha. I've been wanting one of those wand curling irons that come with the glove. I love curled hair, but I hate getting kinks from the clasp. I saw one today for a decent price and picked that up as well. I'll report back here with my results on the products after I try them. Have a good night :)

I hate that store with a FIREY passion- because of their employees at the one in my town. -_____- horrible women. I won't go into it
Anyway :D
I do like Hairtrition shampoo, conditioners, and leave in spray , and I like their brand of the Moroccan Argan oil mainly because of how good it smells to me, and I like that they have Manic Panic especially in Black and Virgin Snow I also like their selection of Nail Polish and their little $1.00 eye makeup is fun :]

I like the Hask protein treatments a lot. Also they carry a skin care line called Beyond Belief that is really really good!
Does anyone shop at Ulta? One just opened near me and I have yet to check it out.

jojo89 I love the As I Am coconut co wash! It's my 'go to' product for when I CO wash :D I really can't use the other products in the line ( to heavy for me unless I just use a tiny drop) but I love the cowash!
I also go in for the Manic Panic, aphogee protein treatments and the henna and placenta packets :)

That's funny you say that cuz I was in there today and saw the henna and placenta packets and ALMOST got one out of curiosity. The name kindaaaa grosses me out lol. Glad you like the cowash. I just used it and my hair is so soft. Once it airdries, I'll know if I like it.

Ha I know what you mean. There has been a few employees that I have not cared for. I used to LOVE the $.99 eye shadows there. I'd get the brightest ones and then I kinda grew out of it. People told me I was the only person they knew that could pull off bright green eyeshadow, that should have told me something lol. I got one of the China Glaze chrome polishes today. Expensive but I love it, Very shiny and metallic.

I know exactly what you mean about the employees! The employees by my house HATE me, I guess because I'm the girl who returns everything lol! Why am I going to keep products that didn't work for me? I also got mad because one of the employees asked me why I was returning the Ion Nature products and I told her it was because it made my hair dry. She was all like what like she didn't believe me. Just give me my money back and I don't ask me questions woman! Also, don't act like I don't know what dry hair feels like, it's my hair for Pete's sake! Also, one of the employees is horrible to my mom, she saw my mom's birthdate on her ID and told my mom she couldn't believe that she was older than my mother. What a jerk! Not to mention when she was buying me some neon nail polishes she asked her who they were for since the colors were way too young for her. Seriously?!

Ugh! I get the feeling that they have some sort of huge EGO because they think because they work at Sallys they are a bad ass hairdresser or something who knows everything about everything.
Last time I was in that store there was a girl wanting to go white blond there and she gave her the supplies for COMPLETE disaster! I was pissed that this girl is basically letting the general public ruin their hair completely. To me as a hairdresser, no matter what I am doing, the idea for me is to have the well being of their hair in mind, and try to AVOID damage any way I can.
I went up to the customer and was really nice and tried to tell her what she should really be using, but she was too confused to even understand me.
That is super screwed up too that they treat you and your mom so badly there. The last time some awesome girls worked at sallys was when I was 14-16. I thought they were cool because they had a ton of tattoos and piercings and knew so much about hair. Now its just a bunch of n00bs. Haven't ran into a good associate ever since. I am happy that I have CosmoProf though. :]
Sorry OP for getting slightly off topic! :D I get heated when it comes to their employees :p

I feel they have a HUGE ego too, and to be honest when I asked them for their opinions on hair products I just take it with a grain of salt. Especially when they try to suggest products that didn't work for me in the past and I tell them and they just look at me like I'm weird.
At least you tried to help the girl out and hopefully her hair didn't turn into a complete disaster.
I hate the way they treat us and I feel like telling them off sometimes but I'm just whatever about it. I really don't like going in there alone anymore so I have my boyfriend go with me lol! Last summer before I had my big chop there was this really cool associate there who actually listened to me, she even complimented me about my hair and said that I should never cut it. Made me feel awesome! Turns out she had a same reaction I had to the One 'n Only Argan oil line. They worked for a while, but then I started noticing an increase shed rate and it happened to her as well. She said that it was most likely too strengthening.

I've also noticed that their employees are a mixed bag...as for products I love the Hask Placenta Products (I got them for christmas one year and after all the gross feelings about placenta went away I actually noticed some improvement to my hair, the little vials are my favorite), Manic Panic (it's a staple for me as I still have bleached parts in my hair), and protein treatment packets (I normally just try out whatever one they have on special).

Hairwise? Cure Care conditioner for removing heavy oilings and cassia.
Mostly I go there for nail polish and the super fine grit nail files.
Finger Paints has some really fun limited edition colors sometimes, but I wish that you didn't have to obsessively keep track of when the collections are coming out just to find them. (You'd think a store that sells stuff like polish for a living would want to make plenty of product available, but noooo!)

In the UK, I once found a crazy reduction on Biolage balm; I got a medium-sized tub for £9. I also like some of their hairpins (I keep meaning to get some spin-pins), and their clips used to be wonderfully useful for sectioning my hair when I dyed it. I still use them now for holding my hair up in the shower while the conditioner soaks in.
