When you get your hair thinned out with the thinning shears, does the hair that gets thinned grow back to its original thickness? I just never understood how thinning your hair worked

Thinning it out means some of the hair gets cut way shorter than the rest of the hair. Say you have a chunk of hair, about half will get cut shorter, it's sort of like layering individual chunks of hair. And yes, it grows out with the rest of the hair; I don't see why it would stop growing.

Yes, it does grow out...though it might be messy (uneven) depending on the skill of the person wielding the shears.

I had that done every summer when I was a child and my hair always grew back just as thickly as before.
