Pic heavy!

I don't normally do 'look at me' type threads, as I don't like pictures of myself. But I think I might be a proper closet wavy. I really want to be a wurly, but I'll settle for waves. I wondered what you guys thought.

A bit of history:

This is my hair washed, combed, airdried and brushed, as I normally do. Pretty flat. Normally it refuses to even hold a curl and I have to torture it into submission with hot curling tongs and a ton of hairspray.

When it was long (ha! Long. Not long by LHC standards) this is the kind of slight wave I got - again, washed, combed, air dried and then brushed.

It's a shaggy pixie now like in the top two photos, and I dyed it black recently so the colour is different now. I did an amla treatment a few weeks ago and got some extra waves. I thought that was interesting and decided to try and enhance any natural wave.

So I washed tonight with JASON sea kelp s & c (thought it was conefree - it is not. Ah well). I then squeezed out excess water by scrunching, wrapped in a towel for 5 mins (I tried to plop it but think it's too short), then scrunched in some aloe gel and MADE MYSELF not touch it for the next 20 minutes.

So here we go. I wonder what effect it would have if I did not use any cones next time. And I am so keen to get some flaxseed gel or some Devacurl gel.

From the back with flash: (I'm not going bald, honest, it's still a bit damp so it's clumping at the scalp and I need to touch up my roots!)

From the back, no flash - I'm leaning back to get a decent shot, I'm sure it's not that long yet.

Waves from the side, better at the ends I think

Front shot while damp and a should-have-worn-makeup shiny face, sorry for the red-eye but photobucket won't let me do any editing tonight:

What do you guys think? Can I keep this up? Am I a secret wavy or wurly?

I agree, I see some waves!! When it grows out it might change again, as the hair gets longer/heavier and streches the waves out, but right now I think you are definately in the 2's. It might be hard to really tell where in the 2's until it's a bit longer, and like I said it might change, but for now... start with 2a/2b? Maybe? It really is hard to tell on short hair.

I think it's possible that you're in the 2's. It's kind of hard to tell when your hair is short though and we would need to see a proper hair typing pic to be sure.

I would say 1c/2a or 2a.

I know, the lack of length is a pain. I was holding off on a proper HT picture until I got to shoulder length, just so it was all even. This shaggy mop is not hairtype-friendly :D

When I originally typed myself, I was a heavy cone user and I typed myself as 1a. When I came off regular cones in 2006, I shifted to 1b because I had a bit of movement in my hair.

I guess I'll wait til I have a bit more length to properly hairtype. Kwaniesiam is a similar length to me and it was her hairtype thread that made me think 'hmm' about mine. You'd think I'd have stopped cutting it all off when this November will be my 7th year on LHC. *facepalm* Just think how long I could have grown by now if I'd left it alone!
