I was browsing through some pictures on my camera. I saw one that I was trying to take while doing a length shot, and although it looked terrible for length I loved how the overall picture looked.

One night on vacation we went to Medieval Times.... I had mah little crown on and my hair looked awesome :D My son, who was little at the time, said 'mommy you look like a princess' ...needless to say we bought the picture :p I haven't had as good of a hair photo since!

My favorite pic of my hair was taken my senior year of high school (1995!) on senior skip day, at the beach. The pic is blurry and I am in the process of turning to shout at a friend. The wind that that was particularly strong and had blown my hair across my face and is being whipped up and around my head. It was pure accident and one of my favorite pics ever. My hair was about BSL then, if I remember correctly.

Excuse my strange expression, I was just about to talk in this shot I think and didn't realise my friend was taking a picture! Anyway, I digress... I think my hair looks quite nice and shiny here even though it was pre-LHC! It looks a fraction darker because it was December.

It's impossible to pinpoint a favourite, as I have SO many pictures of my hair, but here's one I really like. It was taken when I first went natural after excessive heat styling, dye and really bad handling off my hair for years. I had transitioned, so to speak, from the dye then done a mini big chop. I was amazed to find out I had ringlets.

It's dark mousy blonde, darker than yours! But it normally doesn't look that light at all, it looks more like in my siggy! I did use a mild bleachmix at the ends to lighten it up a bit, but again, the warm light was doing the trick! Plus I feel it has gotten lighter because of the sun. But normally it's more like an auburn kind of colour!

To be honest, I had always hated my hair because it breaks soooo easily, is incredibly slow growing and has a tendency to either poof up or hang limp. That photo was a surprise for me and I don't feel so bad about it now! :p

My length shot. I never took those until I got to waist, I was really surprised to learn what my hair looked like from the back.

I hadn't dyed my hair in months & this was my first ever attempt at a braid.

I didn't realize that my natural hair color was coming through with caramel colours in it so that made me happy for a bit... :)

I think this would be my favourite, taken about a month ago after I'd done a cassia treatment. I think that was the best my hair has ever felt.

Thanks for such a compliment but can I say Hollyfire, that I attribute any shine and smoothness to the flash on my camera. If you saw me in real life, it seriously does not look like it does in photos. I have a little shine but I have loads of little wobbly bits sticking up everywhere. It's the texture of my hair, and now greys are becoming more and more present at the top and sides.

Hey Amygirl, it's this old VS Sassoon flocked hot roller set that is about 20 years old. The result I got was a bit of a shock because in the past it's never looked like that (hence I took photos). The trick for me to get this particular look is to start winding at the top to bottom as opposed to from bottom to top - does that make sense? Then I get that more ribbon-like curl that sits flatter and doesn't bounce as much. When I roll from the bottom up, I end up with bouncy shirley temple-like curls which I find embarrassing to walk around in and they take a little while to drop. I would think any hot roller set would work. This one I think I did in an hour. I let the hot rollers go cold and I think this might be the key to the hold. Plus I used hairspray on it because I was going to a wedding.

Wow! After looking at all those pretty pics I almost didn't post. First of all do I hate pictures of myself (very un-photogenic!), I have never even thought of taking a picture just of my hair (even when it was long and healthy) and currently my hair definitely lacks in comparison to everybody here (particularly in length!). And the few who have the same or shorter length than I do have a gorgeous color and/or shine!

My hair doesn't have as much wave as it has in the picture anymore, and I seldom wear my hair like that anymore. I had dressed it up and braided myself a headband for a Victorian costume party.

Isn't it? I adore it. It's an eleven strand braid, and it was done at Pennsic a couple of summers ago. The lady who was doing braiding saw me in her shop looking at her handmade brass hairtoys and she pretty much shanghaied me into her braiding stool. It took over an hour, but the braid lasted three days and it was so comfortable.

That was taken the day of my trial wedding hair in St Paul, MN. There's a large, old, and very beautiful building there:

That houses Nina's Cafe, an Aveda salon, a bank and a few other things.

About a hundred years ago it was called Nina's Brothel (they even have a picture of the building with that sign on it inside the cafe!), and that pool is on the ground level. It used to be used for watering horses :)

You're welcome. I was hoping to go back to Pennsic this year and maybe get it re-done, but I lost my job earlier this year so that plan went up in smoke. Next year!!

I've been lurking this thread, thinking I didn't have any pictures that were my 'favorite' of my hair, and then I ran across these! I forgot how awesome the henna looked in the sunlight in these pictures! These were taken in Kentucky down by Natural Bridge State Park... I spent a week down there last winter hiking around, it was great!

This thread is making me happy! I love looking at all of the beautiful hair here, in all the different shades and types of curl (or lack thereof :laugh:)

This is my favourite pic of my hair, I had just done rag curls on more rags than usual (I normally do 2 or 3 big ones). Forgive the weirdness going on near the roots, it was my first go at finger waves but my hair came out too bouncy and so it looked a little odd.

I also love my siggy pic - it was taken under the bright light in my kitchen, and does a good job of capturing that elusive "sunshine lit" colour. My ends are a bit lighter from sunbleaching and I love the way they glow :heartbeat

At the risk of revealing myself as a troublemaker, from a 2008 protest against Bank of America--long before LHC, when I had still been just washing and conditioning every couple of days with Herbal Essences for years... not much length, but I just love what it is doing in the wind. This picture is my favorite hair picture. My curls felt full and soft, without being super frizzy. I've been doing CO primarily, but this day I had clarified with a few drops of Planet Dishwashing Soap of all things, before my usual coconut oil and conditioner, and it worked beautifully!
