Hey guys. I noticed that in the shower sometimes short hairs come out. Maybe 3 to 5 inches long. I think they mainly come from the front of my head, but I can't be sure. Is this normal, or should I only lose long hairs? Thanks!

My first response was very naughty, so I'll keep it for myself :)

My two cents: if it's not too much hair, don't worry. Do you have layers?

I shed mostly long hairs, but some of them are shorter, too.

Unless it's breakage. If I brush my hair, I see short hairs too, because my hair breaks. Maybe you could switch to scrunchies for ponytails and such?

Hairs of various lengths will shed during a shampooing.

While you can't determine if the shorter hairs are coming from a particular area, you can just be gentle when shampooing and let nature take its course.

You also might want to brush your hair before you wet it to remove any shed hairs that still might be trapped among the others.

Also, use your fingerpads gently when you shampoo, especially around your front hemline, where the hairs are more delicate.
