I love seeing people's hair as a child, how it's changed, how long it was, the texture, etc. So, let me see yours :-)

I have a few to share. In a lot of my childhood pics, my hair was messy and/or brushed out. I was a VERY active/hyper child who loved to climb trees and play in the mud, so that probably explains the wild look :P I love it, though. It makes me, me!

Aaaah CurlyCurves your hair in numbers 2, 7, and the second-to-last one in the second post ... :crush: And this is a great idea for a thread because people's hair DOES sometimes naturally change with age. I have had a lot of hairtype confusion because I don't understand how I lost my waves and curls.

I didn't have much of a mop as a baby (somewhere around 1 year old here)

We didn't have a camera when I was a kid, so there are only a handful of pictures, most of which are at my parents' house a few hundred miles away. If I remember to scan a few them next time I visit, I'll edit them in. Anyway, here I am around age 4, I think, with my grandmother.

I was born with no hair...:o It slooowly came in. Unlike my sister, from the moment my hair grew to this day, my natural color has always been a dark brown. My sister's hair started out blonde and got darker...

(But honestly, when I was little I hated having my hair up but also hated photos because everyone complained how crazy I looked in them. So a lot with my hair are blurry or dark. The original pretty much looks like this too. Dad says I'm 2 or 3yo.)

When I was two but look at my mom's hair! She had MBL-WL hair for most of my childhood but now she rocks a way shorter do. It's really short on the sides. Almost like a faux hawk type cut.

When I was a little girl my mom cut my hair. It really didn't suit me and I didn't like it. I always wanted to have really long hair.
The picture quality is bad and I don't know how old I was at these pictures, only at the one with my little dog I'm sure I was 8.

Mully mully mullet! The curly Girllet. Then I decided I wanted to grow out the sides. Unfortunately I can't find a picture of the half-afro, half-mullet. I would pin the sides back with a barrette on each side of my head so they wouldn't stick straight out. (I have no idea what is going on with the color of this photo, sorry)

By the time I was in seventh grade, I had discovered the blow fryer. Of course back then there were no flat irons, just crimpers, so I would blow the hell out of my hair trying to destroy the curls. Yes trying. Oh and I discovered bleach that year too...

Between about ages 4 and 5 I believe, my hair turned dark brown! I think I was 6 or 7 in this photo.

Then around age 9, I cut my siblings' hair so much that my mom got fed up and cut my hair aaaaaalllllllll off! I hated that haircut... and I have never gotten it cut ever since, other than an inch or two when trimming.

Large chunk of time missing in photos....Don't know what was going on at the time, just not many shots of me with longer hair.
But this is around 9 years old, after moving back to Colorado and me never coming inside ever and ending up with sun-bleached, blonde again. Stayed like this for a few more years and started to re-darken it seemed. This hair is what I always had in my mind when I was about 14-15, and I started lightening my hair. I wanted this back and no amount of hanging around in the sun seemed to accomplish it. =/

Your hair is absolutely amazing! I had white hair as a child too, but only for about six years, then it only turned white in summer and was mousy/wheatblonde the rest of the year. I envy your continuous blondness!

Here's my hair when I was a child. It was platinum blonde until I turned 11-12, then it darkened up a bit, still blonde though. Had that same haircut, f o r e v e r. Am glad to have grown it out, finally. ;)

Here's my hair when I was a child. It was platinum blonde until I turned 11-12, then it darkened up a bit, still blonde though. Had that same haircut, f o r e v e r. Am glad to have grown it out, finally. ;)

Like many of you, I was also quite blonde when I was young! By age 10 or so it gradually darkened into the dark blonds/light brown that it is today (underneath the henna that is :p)

Me on the left, sister on the right. For some reason (shadow or something?) it looks like my hair is coming in really dark on top, but it's not. The bottom is more accurate colour-wise. I think I was about 10 here. Haven't seen my natural hair colour since I was 14 or something like that and I'm 22 now and working on growing it out so I guess time will tell. My guess is it will be darker/more strawberry. I've got a lot of red through my hair. And as you can see my sister has red hair. She never dyed it. Good for her lol.
