UPDATE: Ravenslair and Willowthewisp still available 7/23/2012
So, as many of you know by now, my cat Maggie got very badly hurt recently and needed extensive hospitalization and surgery to get better. Thanks to the generosity of a lot of friends, family, and folks online, we've been able to get her the help she needed, but we've still got over a thousand dollars in emergency vet bills to pay off.

A kind LHCer has donated these hairtoys for me to sell to help pay for Maggie's care (same batch as the ones in this thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=97360), they just didn't all fit in one thread).

Ravenslair Leto of the Golden Spindle Brass Hair Fork
Asking: $13

New $18.50: Current Etsy listing for same item (http://www.etsy.com/listing/101657294/leto-of-the-golden-spindle-4-inch-brass)

4 inches usable & total

This is a simple brass hair fork - strong, flexible and lightweight for comfortable updos. It is curved slightly to match the curve of the scalp for greater comfort. It is slightly less shiny than a new brass fork, but could be easily polished back up, or worn as is, depending on your taste. Action shot (http://imgur.com/gObKB), if anyone's interested.

Willowthewisp 5-prong Hair Fork (unknown wood) (http://imgur.com/zi8bW)

Asking: $25

New unknown: Original Etsy Listing (http://www.etsy.com/shop/willowthewisp)

3.25 inches usable
4.75 inches total

This is a simple 5-prong hairfork (http://i.imgur.com/8XM1sl.jpg) carved of a light-colored natural wood. It is smooth and hair-friendly, and would be a great accessory for a natural look. The tines are carved to bend slightly, in order to follow the natural curve of the scalp. The color is more a light golden-blonde tone than an ash one. Action shot (http://imgur.com/L2C3b), if anyone's interested.

SOLD - Thank you! Hawaiian Sea Turtle Hairfork, Decorated with Lilies (http://imgur.com/WtSmO)

Asking: $10 if purchased alone, or $5 in combination with another item

New unknown

5 inches usable
7.5 inches total

This 2-prong hairfork has a sea turtle carved in the top, and is decorated with foam lilies. It is probably made of koa wood, which comes from Hawaii and is frequently used in carved wooden souvenirs. The whole piece is lightweight and should be comfortable to wear, and the flowers would look adorable peeking out from the top or side of a bun. Action shot (http://imgur.com/C3fGq), if anyone's interested.

SOLD - Thank you! Quattro Double-End FlexStix Hair Stick in Lapis (http://imgur.com/lHiYP)

Asking: $40

New: $48 Etsy Listing (either this or a similar item) (http://www.etsy.com/transaction/80713870)

3 inches usable (if used as double-ended; if used as single-ended it is slightly longer)
4.5 inches total, including both lapis ends

This is a lovely Quattro piece with gorgeous lapis focal beads. Check out the etsy photo for a better depiction of the stones - there are bits of shimmery gold throughout, which contrasts nicely with the blue for a really pretty effect. It's quite difficult to capture the full effect on camera (I tried (http://imgur.com/tx9yf)), but they're very beautiful stones. It is a short stick, but I've found that due to the slenderness of Quattro sticks, I need less length than with other sticks. Depending on the effect you're after, this could be worn in a medium-sized bun (3-4 inches diameter) with the focal beads sort of nestled into the hair, or a smaller bun (possibly a half-up?) for more visibility of the stones. It's in excellent condition and features the wonderful Quattro Microgrooves for extra grip. Action shot (http://imgur.com/NgTr6), if anyone's interested.

SOLD - Thank you! South4th Snakewood Curvy Pin

Asking:$15

New: Not sure. Original Etsy Listing (http://www.etsy.com/transaction/52485337)

6 inches

This is a unique piece by South4th, fashioned into a serpentine shape out of the last bit of a piece of snakewood. The wood grain is really pretty, I did my best to capture it in the photo with my crappy cell phone camera, but it hardly does it justice. The pictures on the original etsy listing are better, but the wood is darker in tone than in those shots (possibly it has deepened with time). It's perfectly smooth to the touch and pleasantly curved. Action shot (http://imgur.com/gan93), if anyone's interested.

SOLD - Thank you! Votepalantine Chunky Australian Blue Gum Wood Hair Sticks
Asking: $25

New (unknown, but estimating about $32 based on the prices of similar single sticks in the store) Original Etsy Listing (http://www.etsy.com/transaction/64213857)

5.1 inches usable & total

These chunky wooden hairsticks (http://imgur.com/O4XIR) are smooth and hair-friendly, and really cool looking. The grain on these is very interesting because it's from closer to the bark than most Australian Gum Wood, so it's got more of the "blue" (which is really more grey than blue to my eye) running through it than usual. I hadn't seen any in this style before, and wasn't sure how well they'd work, so I had to try them. Sure enough, they hold like a charm. Action shot (http://imgur.com/CQPjC), for those interested.

That's everything for now. Maggie's continuing to improve, and I'm still working on paying down those vet bills. Thank you all for looking, and for your support of Maggie! :flowers:
