Just gorgeous. Where's Gumball? http://www.findingbraids.com/crownphotos,phot.html I think I can figure out the one-strand lace twist thingy by looking at it; it's what I get when I twist a rope crown strand the wrong direction.

Oh, very nice. I really like the look of the knot crown braid for some reason, even though I've never been too fond of knot braids before. I just wish I could master even just the regular crown braid first before trying these masterpieces out. Thanks for shearing this inspiration! :)

[sigh] Those are so gorgeous. I wish I could do things like that, but I've barely mastered the french braid, and am so all thumbs when it comes to my hair. :(

I know that site, it's a real teaser since there are no tutorials and sometimes I just have no clue how to do this or that! There are some that have been torturing my mind for awhile.

Spirals, thank you for that braiding site link!

So many exquisite styles..but rather frustrating to attempt unless you're very adept with your fingers...and have muscles of steel.

I think they're more geared for someone braiding hair..rather than do it yourself.

That 5 strand crown braid cascade on the redhead was superb!

I love seeing new braiding ideas!!

My mind is officially bogged. Are there things pinned in, or is it just hair on this one?

I think the rosette things are zig zag/snake plaits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9FaEZmnxRQ)pushed very tight and pinned.

Long_hair_bear, it's nice to see that braider can do something nice with a ii thickness. Sooo many of the braids shown are on iii or super-iiis that I found it really pretty unappealing.

I agree, torrilin! Not so much unappealing, as frustrating. Of course the braiders want to make the most of the art, but still, not many people are blessed with long, thick hair that displays the styles to such wonderful effect.

I agree! My hair is definitely, ii, not as thick as I'd like but not thin either. She worked magic with it! One thing that bugs me about my hair is its thinness on the sides above my ears. One can see my scalp right through! :(

Mmmm, I wasn't quite thinking that way.

I'm a pretty average ii, but I happen to have the kind of ash blonde to ash brown hair that shows off intricate braids nicely. Braids look good on me :). And I have fairly delicate features, so the more delicate look of a braid of just my hair tends to look nicely balanced with my features. I'm lucky, and I enjoy that luck a lot.

I got told pretty regularly as a kid that fine, straight hair was troublesome, or bothersome, or even ugly. I would even get told it's impossible to make my hair look nice as it is. So seeing nothing but styles that just plain are impossible for my hair without the help of switches or extensions made me think the braider would insist (like many stylists) that my hair is impossible and not worth working with. Annoying!

So it's nice to see things that are attainable done by the same person. It illustrates creativity and skill in a really great way.
