Hi everyone!

Just wondering what the general consensus is about ombre on SLish hair.

Not really considering it, just wondering! I've not seen any examples where I've thought "wow!" but maybe others have..?

I have a supersubtle ombré thingy going on :P But I don't even notice it anymore. But I like it. I LOVE ombré though, but more the subtle ones. Not as subtle as mine though because you can't see a thing ;)

Oktober - I'm sure it looks lovely on you! I really like your hair colour. Every time I see your hair I have to slap my hands down from reaching dye/henna!

Isn't bleached out ombre on ends a bit counter-productive, health wise?! I mean...the driest parts of your hair are being bleached?!

It is, and I feel like my ends are a bit dry, yes. But henna just darkens a lot which I hate! But again, mine is so subtle so the bleach damage is very minimal as well (I only used 10 vol with bleach for like, 5 - 10 minutes).

Here's a picture where you can still see it a little bit (never mind the ridiculous bangs lol) In 'real life' you hardy see it though.

Seeing these examples, it definitely brings your attention up to the eyes!

The tutorial I used to dip-dye my ends was done on a mannequin with maybe APL hair, and I thought it looked quite elegant (screenshot below):

Personally, I think it looks like grow-out on hair that's shorter than APL. Ok if that's the look you're after, but I certainly prefer it on MBL and longer.

In a way I suppose it it, but it also means that you can trim off the damage more easily - i guess most artificial ombre isn't on super long hair so growth maybe isn't the main priority

I think it looks neat.

if you want to go more natural ive been putting olive oil and honey on my length twice a week as a moisturizing treatment..but it has lightened my ends and i have an ombre thing going on now.

I vote go for it. Just make it look intentional and have fun with it.

I'm a fan of subtle ombre personally. Well all ombre but subtle especially, I think it looks super pretty a lot of the time.

I'd say go for it too. :)

Thanks everyone. I'm not considering doing it as I'm torn as to whether or not I think it looks like grown out roots!

I think it looks ok if it's subtle, but have seen some really overdone ones that look like they were done at home that put me off.
