I searched through the forums, but I could not find a thread like this. So here it is: the thread where you can show us your beautiful, crazy, wild morning hair. Of course before you start using any products or even comb it.

A picture of my morning hair will follow as soon as LHC will allow me to upload. :)

Just got up (forgive me this late hour, UK people! I'm ill!).

Here is my morning hair:

I quickly got dressed because didn't fancy showing the world my pengiun nightie, as fetching as it might be! Haven't combed or done anything to my hair or even washed my face...Eek! My morning hair is somewhat limp, not particularly wild as you can see. It's wash day today though which might explain why it's so flat.

last year when my hair was just barley shoulder length, i'd wake up every morning with this huge rats nest in the back of my head. it was terrible. i think this is what spurned me to get a BBB.

no rats nests since. thank heavens.

Voila. Third day hair right out of bed at 6:45am. My hair is getting remarkably immune to braidwaves, I notice now... I should have taken a picture of the topknot for laughs, but I always pull it out in bed before I get up to go to the bathroom.

Spidermom, no I can't. I always wear a side braid and keep it in the front of me. I sleep on my side. I've actually been thinking about trying a sleep cap because the hair near my head gets so tangled at night.

Oh, o.k. XG. Good. I've tried a side braid but that wakes me up, too, plus it tickles my neck. It's either a top of head braid over the top of the pillow or loose hair over the top of the pillow. It's been loose a lot lately. I've been too tired (or too lazy) to braid.

The untamed web looks pretty amazing, spidey. If I slept with my hair loose, it would take me whole bottle of detangler to get a comb through it.

My morning picture. Usually I comb my hair out and do a pony tail type bun on top of my head for bed- so that my hair looks pretty normal in the AM.

However- I was sick all day yesterday so I took a long bath last night, CO'd my hair to make up for not brushing it for 24+ hours, and then promptly fell back into bed with fresh from the shower, uncombed hair and slept for 10 hours. :p

This was actually fun! I'm not very functional in the morning, so it took some....concentrated effort...to make it happen. But I'm happy I took the pics!

This is my typical morning hair: frizzy, flattened and lopsided from sleep. Usually, I give it a firm shake to re-puff it and just go to work. I liked doing this because it gave me the only photos that start to show how little hair I have if it isn't puffed out like crazy. My hair isn't very thick, just curly. Anyway, I know my hair is well-moisturized bc I can sleep on it and it gets smaller. If it's dry, I wake up and it's HUGE and ANGRY. lol

Spirals, you know, everything is "in" here. You just have to talk to the right people. Don't assume that we all march to the same drummer here. I do a lot of things that aren't "in", but there are plenty of folks here who do the same as I do. I've been here for almost six years and no one has kicked me out for dyeing my hair, wearing bangs, having face framing layers, or one of the many things that I do that are not "good".

Sometimes, I think that there is a vocal minority who are perceived as speaking for all of us. :)

I had a particularly disappointing wash yesterday that left my hair looking limp and horrid, so I just stuck it up in a scrunchie on top of my head for the night to try to save it. Didn't get the result I'd hoped for but it did give me a chance to get a bed head shot for you, including a rare face shot.

Taken while brushing my teeth ... this was after it was coconut-oiled wet and braided (100 degree day = brief evening shower, even though I'm a morning-shower person) and then let down in the morning to dry before showering AGAIN. Two showers in a day actually keeps my hair much better moisturized because I condition twice in one day (and in this high desert climate, I need all the conditioning I can get!) but bad for my water bill. :(

I haven't shampooed since August 2006, and I only CO-wash once a week -- so I don't "wash" every day either. :) But without the conditioner every single day, my hair gets bigger and bigger and frizzier and frizzier. Spring and fall I can often pull off second day hair. But where I live, summer is even dryer than winter, and I've had to start coconut oiling every night as well just to keep it under control.

Probably it will get more difficult as it lengthens, but right now I'm around hip and it's easy. People are always assuming that curls = easily tangled, but I've found the opposite to be true ... who knows.

IME, dry hair is more tangly, moisturized hair is less tangly. I've had terribly tangly dry long hair, but now my hair is moisturized and hardly tangles at all. :) (it's also curlier, which I also attribute to it being more moisturized)

New favorite thread! morning hair is mostly my favorite, I wish bedhead was more socially acceptable. Also, I realized that in almost all the photos I put on LHC I am wearing the same shirt. I promise I have more shirts.

I consistantly look like a trashed rockstar in the morning. I embrace it, though surely my family wonders what I do at night to look so wrecked (I think just sleeping?) and I love ridiculous expressions! =D

Thanks. I posted it yesterday in the braid thread, but it kinda got by passed. ;) I used Zesty's idea of practicing a five strand braid using 5 braids so it was easier to keep track of the strands. I just used 5 rope braids to do a 5 strand. :D Easy peasy.

All of you look so cute and pretty/handsome when you wake up so I dared to take a wakey picture of myself today aswell. I have nowadays tried to get used to sleeping with my hair in a braid so this picture features my sleep braid aswell, but I might post another pic once I sleep with my hair free so you'll see what kind of mess usually traps me in the morning. :p

So here I am, just woken up and put on the nearest clothes to go take the dog out since he jumped on my chest to wake me up... just to find him sleeping in my spot not wanting to go anywhere when I got back from taking this pic. :rolleyes:

This thread is the best thing on LHC right now. I love it. Spidermom you look like a serene geisha in all those tumbling silver waves. I love the photobomb cat and the pastel pink hair shot too. Honestwitness, your hair is like spun sugar, it's gorgeous! Yeah, I'm grateful he stays healthy with a simple change in food. Kidney stones are terrible....I really hope he never gets them, your sweet orange baby.
