UPDATE 7/21/12 - XL Dragonfly Flexi-8 and XL Celtic Cross Flexi-8 still available.

My cat, Maggie, got hurt very badly last week and spent the weekend in emergency care, and still has a surgery and some more hospitalization ahead. I'm selling my hairtoys to help pay for her (holy crap adding up) vet bills.

UPDATE: People have been very kind and concerned about Maggie's well being, so I've posted links to a couple of YouTube videos (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=2200640&postcount=15) from when I visited her at the vet yesterday, for those interested.

New $14: http://www.flexi8.com/hair-clips-small.html?id=CgTZRcd (http://www.flexi8.com/hair-clips-small.html?id=CgTZRcdw)

These devices are extremely durable. I've had these for at least 2, probably closer to 3 years, so the metal is not quite shiny-silver-new looking anymore, but other than that, the condition is exactly as they were when I bought them. You can throw them in your purse and they'll be just fine. The extra-large ones are [i]just[\i] big enough for a cinnabun or lazy wrap bum if I use the stick part like a hair stick and close the flexi part around it, and the small one is the right size for a half-up ponytail on my hair, or a ponytail on some people.

SOLD - Thank you! Quattro Hair Accessories 'FlexStix' Tigereye

Asking: $29

New $39: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/22357405

6 inches usable

These have been rarely used. The stones are beautiful - I think I gasped a little when I pulled them from the package. 6" is too long for me, though, which is why they've been rarely used. They are in perfect condition, exactly like new. He's not kidding about that Microgroove technology, either - it's a pretty neat texture, smooth enough not to catch the hair, but textured just so that it stays in place when you stick it.

------------------------------------

SOLD - Thank you! One-of-a-kind RasaOM Waterproof Hairfork

Asking: $34

New $39: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/39979590

This is perfectly waterproof, and absolutely beautiful. Very good condition - still shiny and new-looking. I've gotten several compliments on it. The shimmery dots and swirls are even prettier in person.

----------------------------------------------

SOLD - Thank you! Rose's Butterfly Comb Replica (from the movie Titanic)
Asking: $30

New: not sure, I can't find a site selling them new anymore.

2.5 inches usable length (it can be stuck in a bit more than that if you cover up the bottom wings)

This is the butterfly comb that has been so popular on here. :) It is in very good condition, the only signs of wear are in between the tines where I've tried to smooth it out some with ultrafine sandpaper. It is best used for decorating an updo, in my experience, not so much for holding one up. Definitely pretty, though.

----------------------------------------

SOLD - Thank you! Starflowersilver Nickel Silver Trinity Chignon (http://imgur.com/mXDDC)
Asking: $37

New $45: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/22504097 (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/22504097)

4.5 inches across
5.5 inches each pin

This has been used only occasionally, however the metal has tarnished quite a bit, giving it a sort of vintage look. It is a very unique piece, and the shop where I bought it is closed until further notice. It's quite comfortable and very pretty. Allergy note: please note this does contain nickel.

--------------------------------------------

SOLD - Thank you! Orna Lalo (http://www.lalo-treasures.com/) Hair Stick

Asking:$20

New: I have no idea

4.25 inches usable
about 5.25 inches total (sorry, forgot to measure this part)

I'm really not sure at all what this one ought to cost, since I don't see anything remotely like it on their webpage. Feel free to offer another amount. It's in great condition though, and while I've never worn it into the shower to check, it seems to be waterproof. It's really cute and reminds me of some sort of candy. Something to wear when you're feeling playful and cute (or would like to feel playful and cute! :p)

That's all for now - I haven't stopped running around like mad trying to get stuff taken care of for Maggie. My, but those vet bills add up. :scared:

I don't think I have any other toys to sell, but I'm going to take another look through my things and see if I've missed any I could sell (I think I'm keeping a couple of very utilitarian pieces, everything else that might be of value is going to help pay for Maggie).

I'd like to purchase your One-of-a-kind RasaOM Waterproof Hairfork! I hope Maggie is doing a little better! Please give her a scratch behind the ears for me.

The bun cover is very cool. I'm a little confused as to how to use it though...
Unfortunately, DBF is allergic to nickel so I won't risk it.

Hi Talma, I'm sorry but the RasaOM fork has already been claimed via PM. :flower: Thank you for offering, though, and I'll definitely pass along a scratch behind the ears for Maggie.

Hi Kamir0, yeah, best not to risk it if he's allergic. It's pretty easy to use, though - the cover goes over a bun, and the tines slide inside the loops and then into your bun, sort of like a hairstick.

Exactly right about the Microgrooves - it's not just empty sales patter. My hair is fine and superslippery, and Quattro metal sticks & forks hold really well for me. Many people also find that they need less length with these sticks than with wooden ones.

Good luck with the rest of your sales.

Thank you - she was attacked by some other animal, not sure what kind (probably a big dog). Her injuries were several bite wounds on her legs, one large rip/bite on her lower abdomen, and her hind left paw was pretty crunched up (all four metatarsals - those finger-like bones - were broken). What made it even worse was that she was an outdoor cat, so she ran off and hid for a few days and got some really bad infections and infestations shudder: I've been trying my best to get her adequate care so she can survive, because it's clear she's trying to survive this thing and get better, and I can't stand the thought of having to put her to sleep simply for lack of funds.

One thing's certain, though - once she's past it, she is staying indoors. This cannot happen again.

Could it have been a fox?

Anyway, PMing you about the tiger eye Quattro sticks... :)

Update: Bun cage is still available!

Also, just thought those of you concerned about Maggie's status might be interested in these videos I've got up of her (turn the volume down on the purring one - there's a poor lonely dog barking in the cage next to hers).

Maggie Eating Treats (http://youtu.be/mSJWU28Ze5s) - She stood up in this one! She's getting stronger, thank goodness.

Maggie Purring (http://youtu.be/f-Qd9jZ9QMU) - She loves her pets. I think she knows I'm trying to help her get better, because she's much more appreciative of the affection than she usually is

Oooooohhhhhhhh, the poor little sweetheart! I have a soft spot in my heart for cats. If that happened to my cat, I'd hunt down and destroy whatever hurt her!

The wounds look bad, but it's good news she can stand up and has enough energy to purr. :D

Yeah, I have no idea what got to her, but it was really really bad. :( She had such awful infections and things because she went and hid for a few days before finally crawling back to our doorstep, and she was in really bad shape by then. I'm really pretty astounded at how much better she's doing.

Yes, definitely very good news. Those wounds aren't even the really bad ones, though shudder: She had a pretty nasty tear in her lower belly area.

Thanks for posting those clips. Gorgeous brave girl :heartbeat
She really is a fighter. I knew I had to try and scrape together the funds to save her when she started acting grouchy and snappish in the emergency clinic after a day of treatment - her having such an attitude after all that was pretty much a plain sign to me that she meant to try to get better.

Hey guys, just updating to say I've gotten the addresses for the packages made up on my computer and the packing materials ready, but I've been very busy with this whole Maggie thing, so they're not shipped just yet. I'll let you know when I've shipped, hopefully tomorrow. Thank you for your patience. :flower:
