Somethin I noticed is that when I watch anime and games and such, the characters with white or silver hair are usually beasts! like their usually really cunning and powerful, lol I couldn't help but notice, like for example Inuyasha, Sesshomaru from Inuyasha or Sephirtoh from Final Fanatasy 7.

Inuyasha:

Ah, good old Sephiroth. I'm playing Crisis Core now, and they re-did the scene from Final Fantasy 7 where Sephiroth walks through the fire. His hair was blowing all over the place! I was like "No way, his hair would definitely have caught on fire!" Haha, only me. I couldn't think of any more from anime, but how about Freya (http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff9/screens/char4.jpg) from FF9?

I think Anime characters reflect what young Japanese Culture finds exotic and attractive.

Big wide eyes, Long light colored hair, legs that don't stop, humungous chests (oh wait...that's all adult comics)

Actually, white hair suggests that the character is supernatural. It's a Japanese tradition that supernatural creatures are sometimes marked by their light hair, like the Europeans think fairies sometimes have pointed ears or backwards feet. You'll see it in live action Japanese stuff, too; in Throne of Blood the spirit that does the witches' part from MacBeth has white hair.

ZOMG EXCEL SAGA IS TEH AWEZUMNESS!!

Yep sorry about that. I like seeing people on the boards that share common manga interests.

And silver hair and gray hair is so glamorized in my mind :D How I would love to be older and wiser and have the full head of long gray hair to show it. Too bad my hair retention genes are not that great D:

Yes, it does seem to indicate a certain level of power. However, like wonderlywroughte's, my mind always jumps to the lack of practicality of hair like that, like how damaged and tangled it would get, how it would get it the way of fighting, and how the snow-white color would show dirt.

Maybe that also means if we end up going silver later on that we'll secretly be powerful and supernatural? That would be pretty flippin' awesome.

I'm a big fan of Fran from FFXII, though how she can walk in those heels confounds me.

Might not be worksafe (http://www.spirasdestiny.net/final-fantasy-12-revenant-wings/artwork/fran.jpg)

I wish my hair was that thick...

Also, Mmmmm, Dante (http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/rjn1212/rsz_devil_may_cry_002.jpg)

Well, yes, in anime it's often those with unique strenght that has white or silver hair. Those who are just not strong, but have something special. Like Kimimaro in Naruto:

He is a very unique character.

And Kakashi from the same series, already mentioned here, is also a more special charater, as he has his Sharingan and is the Copy-ninja.

But there are also very unique special characters with other hair colours of course. The evil guys often have dark/black hair.

Did any of you ever see Fantastic Children? People's hair would turn white when they remembered their past lives, then go back to its original color when they forgot. There were some fun long hair bits in the sequences on the alien planet, too. All white, of course!

ahahaha funny you should mention that, I play MMOs and Gaia and my main character is always dark skinned with long white hair. I do that to suggest that she's not exactly "normal" and stands out a bit.
