anyone used this brand ?
i was in a store which sells wigs, hair extensions, 4a type of hair care products and ive seen 3 brands of semi permanent hair colors that i had never seen before !

there was even a loreal semi permanent colors some were reds, yellow, brown, black, blond ! not only bright colors like punky color brand, why dont they sell that in the drugstores here !??
it contains no alcool, no peroxide and no ammoniahttp://www.epinions.com/review/Via_Natural_Semi_Permanent_Hair_Color_128_Black_Sa tin_Size_2oz/content_543889919620

the bottle is very cheap too, the other brand i cant remember the name though

so my question is, did anyone used this brand ( VIA ) how long did it last ? and did it fade to a weird color ? i know that the punky color ebony fades to an ugly color like greenish grey, the lady said that this wouldnt fade ugly but just brown ( i got dark blonde hair )

I don't know about the brand you are speaking of, but if you like reds, have you tried Manic Panic Vampire Red? I've had great luck with it and it is non-damaging. I will warn you that it is harder to wash out than some of the other colors by this brand. It is branded semi-permanant but it lasts months in my hair. I've never seen it fully wash out, as I redo it once every two months.

ETA: I'm not sure what an ebony'ish color from Manic Panic would look like.

yes i did try those a few years back, almost all of them except the blue and green ones

i was thinking of dyeing my hair black ( i have one year of new growth and the rest is henndigoed) but i dont want anything permanent on my new hair

the black ( ebony ) punky color fades to an ugly color probably because my hair is blonde ( so yellowish-beige) i was wondering if the VIA would fade brown on my blonde hair, or if it would fade green-grey

i actually bought a bottle cuz it was cheap, i might just do a strand test and see for myself :)

I've got several shades of this (bought from ebay, it's not available here); I also like the fact that it's a direct (semipermanent) dye that's not just the very bright, weird, unnatural colours (no offence to those who like them, but I just prefer the more natural ones :))

I've so far used the one called Sunset red, and it's quite strong actually! Also one time I mixed it with Cherry red, which is even stronger - even after several weeks my ends are still vivid red! (A bit too vivid for my liking...)
I think these dyes would could be a good option to use over henna, for example, and they're way cheaper than e.g. Manic Panic.

edit: the shade I meant is actually called Dark cherry, not Cherry red, doh! :)

Hey OP, what store were you at? Was it Sally's? Did you try the Via? Check out Youtube, there are a few videos up about it. :)

I used the china moon brown a few times. I liked the fact that it wasn't damaging but it did fade pretty quick on me.

I took hair from a brush for the strand test, here is the result ( it says to apply heat on the hair while the dye is in it, I put the piece of hair inside a ziplock bag and blow dried it a few times to keep it warm, i left the dye in for about an hour(it says 20 min)

For comparison ! this is 3 type of dyes i put a small amount of each on a piece of paper just to see the undertone color ( so i can see what its gonna fade to ... )

the top is Via ''jet black''
the left is Manic panic ''raven''
the right is Punky color ''ebony''

the red bits its just leftover punky color in ''coral red'' i was just testing what it would look like if I mix the two ...

ebony is so blueish ...on my blonde hair it fades ugly
raven is good, but fades way too quickly
via jet black .....dunno how quick that would fade, i might just shampoo the hairball everyday and see :cheese:
the ebony is ok ive tried it before, i would need to mix it with some redish-pink color though so it doesnt fade green on me

I really dont remember the name of the store where i got it, all i know is that it was at Place Versailles ( a mall ) in montreal, they sell wigs, hair extension, hair care for 3c-4a ...

im gonna take a look at youtube for the Via , thanks for you replies everyone ;)

Just a heads-up that the "Natural brown" shade of Via Naturals is more like reddish brown (quite reddish) ;)
