Hi everyone :) my name is alexa! I was wondering what length my hair is... I am trying to grow it to waist length first and maybe tailbone length after. I think it is at about bra strap from the back but in the front it is above my breasts. As you can tell my hair is wavy/curly so it's length while soaking wet is only about 2-3 inches from my waist. I also would like to know what type of hair I have? I was thinking 3a but I could be wrong? thank you for reading this and I look forward to information about my length and hair type :)

Ok I have 26 posts now so I can post pictures :)

I can't really see it, but if you have 2 to 3 inches of shrinkage from wet to dry, you're probably a 3A. Try this: dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a cup of water and spray your hair with it. If you get big spirals, as if you did it with a curling iron, you're a 3A.

As for posting a picture, upload your pic to a site like imgur or tinypic, then click the little picture of a mountain above the box you use to reply to posts, and copy the URL of your freshly uploaded image.

It might have something to do with the fact that you only have 8 posts, I think you can't add photos until 25. There's a list of account permissions here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=68520).

Welcome to LHC! :blossom:

Or you could wash your hair as normal and let it airdry without any leave-ins or manipulation. That's generally how typing is done. Never heard of this saltwater thing. In the articles section you can find a thingy that can explain hair type categories.

Also, it's hard to tell the length from your AV since the pic is small and it looks like you're kind of doing the back arching/leaning which will automatically give you a few inches you might not have. Real curlies have to stretch hair and pull down to get a more accurate length figured out, unless you want to just claim the length it curls to. Which some curlies do.

Oh be carefully with salt it draws the moisture from the hair, a member on here quite a few years ago did a salt experiment and ended up with terribly dry hair. Better to just clarify and. Rinse add no conditioner and do not touch your hair, you can always condition afterwards when it's dry. Please do not use salt. I'd say your length and it's hard to tell is between all and bsl curly, stretched would probably reach bsl:)

Ok this is my hair when it was longer a couple months ago. I will post a current picture in a little while when my hair dries :)
