Your favorite pair of hairsticks and where you got them

What are your favorite pair of hairsticks? Where did you get them? I ask because I am ready to get actual hair sticks. I've been using a chopstick from a chinese resturaunt I got for free, and I am ready to upgrade. :D

I have several hairsticks from Luxe. They are really pretty, but my only problem is that they are a little slippery and so is my hair, so my bun or twist tends to loosen as the day goes on. I was thinking a smooth wooden one might be nice. Anyone have suggestions?

I have a couple of black horn sticks that are dangerously pointy but so lovely. They're almost flat, so I don't dare to put any pressure on them in case they break. I got them from Amazon, but they're not available at the moment, so I can't link pictures.

I absolutely love them, and while it's still hard for me to wear sticks as opposed to forks, I wear them whenever I can make my hair cooperate.

Ketylos are my favorite, they have great hold and the dymondwood and acrylic ones are water resistant. (Acrylic is waterproof not "resistant" to clarify lol.)

Right now, I wear a lot of Lady Idun singles but they are on hiatus and not making new ones right now. I love them too very, very much but ketylos are real workhorses.

Any of my titanium sticks - Quattro is the only seller currently making titanium that I will buy from for basics. Nightblooming may have decorated titanium at times and I love her work. I also have Argus and homemade titanium.

For basic wood sticks and some fun ones - Pacific Merchantal has sturdy basics that he also sells dyed. He also does some acrylic work and basic topped sticks.

For fancy fun - Nightblooming, Mountain Musing and Grahtoe.

I'm blanking on whose work I have in glass, but I like them also.

I echo that Ketylos are awesome -- they will keep your hair up all day, and look very pretty (the unusual twisted shape also makes them fun to roll around in your hands). Maybe I'm a little biased because they were my first hairsticks... :p

You might find it difficult to choose the colors you want, though, because there is such a wide variety. Right now, they're having a"buy 3 get 1 free" sale, so you can try some different colors. You can e-mail the creator, Kevin, and he'll answer any questions you might have (he actually has some stick varieties in stock that are not displayed on the website; for example, he does have the clear acrylic sticks available). I believe you can also ask him for custom lengths (there are 3 standard sizes: 5", 6", 7"). I only have tried the 6" because they work fine for my hair. However, it looks to me that you have very long and thick hair, so you might need the longest size (they're also made a little thicker, according to Kevin).

I think my favorites are my 'confetti' patterned acrylic sticks from pacific Merchantile on etsy. Pretty, waterproof and the bright colours always make me feel good :) Many other sticks have followed them but I still use these regularly.

Unfortunately Ron hasn't been able to get any titanium for a while. *sob* Otherwise you'd be fighting me for them.

My very favorite piece is my Quattro paua fork. https://www.etsy.com/transaction/74691723 It's a beautiful, beautiful blue. My favorite hairsticks are LadyIduns, but I wear those singly. I damp bun a lot, so I tend to wear sticks that are waterproof. For wood, I like my Grahtoe bullet sticks. They're short, but hold really well. I also have some mixed dymondwood and acrylic customs from MTM that I love.

My current favorite is a stick I made myself out of a fallen branch in the backyard. The sealer is drying right now, but as soon as it is done I will post pictures in the self-made hair toys thread. (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=131)

It is nothing special.. just a very simple 5 inch stick, but I love the color I managed to achieve by staining the wood with mahogany stain and then red kool aid.

I've got so many sticks and forks and clips that I don't even know what exactly I have anymore, let alone pinpoint which are my favorite.

What's worse, with all the crap I have, I only wear the one fork that I'll leave the dresser when I take it out of my head before going to sleep. The same one, over and over and over again.

My FAV place for hairsticks is PacificMerchantile on etsy. His acrylics are awesome and his wooden sticks are lovely too. Very simple and elegant. I'm particularly fond of his new "oversized" acrylics. I like acrylics because they can be used on wet or dry hair, and also, I don't have to worry about what the rain will do to my hairtoy.
