Hey, this will be fun!
Tell me what you love about your hair, and/or what you dislike about it.
Feel free to post pictures, and long comments. Say as many things you love as you like.
This'll be fun ;)
I'll start;
I love how shiny my hair is
I am so proud of its health
I love that my hair is 100% chemical free
I love that I am natural
I love that I don't have thin, broken, split ends like I used to
I love my curls
I love that my hair grows really fast. Like really.
I love how versitile it is.
I love how soft and silky it is.
I love the colour of it.
I dislike the frizz I am so susceptible to
I wish it was longer
I wish it was thicker
I wish it always listened to me
I wish it didn't dry out sometimes
:bull:

I wish mine was longer. Wish it was straight wish I had my v hem line back. I like how it shines when oiled and styles without stiffening aids.

I like:
It is pretty easy to maintain as far as styles
Feels much healthier since I cut heat styling
The Color!! though I consider henndigo from time to time.
Dislike:
Struggling with some breakage at this time
Wish it would:
GROW FASTER!

Love:
That's completely virgin hair
That the faint glimmer of red is still present
That it is still moderately thick
That it is still growing
That it is soft and shiny
That it lends itself well to updos:

The only thing I dislike is that I lost a lot of thickness to anemia and auto immune issues.

This is fun :)
Although, weirdly I have some crossovers :D
I Love:
- the colour
- the fact that my hair appears thicker these days
- it's finally looking a bit longer
- my ends! I like the fact that my ends look good, last time my hair was this length my ends didn't look great.
- my slight subtle wave
- I love that my hair is virgin, it looks so much nicer now than it ever did when I dyed it years ago
- I like the way my layers look in freshly washed hair.
- my hair likes oils and DTs
- reasonably shiny.
I dislike:
-strangely, the colour! I really like the colour of my hair but I wish it were more red, think DiamondEyes & TiffanieJean's colour.
- it's still too short! Grow hair, grow!
- awkward stage hair, not short but not long. Just a bit akward really.
- slight frizz
- I have hair which doesn't like to co-operate with heat free curling methods, but when I used to use heat tools to curl my hair it managed fine.
- my shorter layers and the stupid thin bit of hair that used to be my side fringe and is the most awkward thing ever.
- my sensitive scalp and the fact that I seem to have allergic reactions to nice products.
- could be shinier.
- too thin for my liking. Could be thicker.

I like:
- that it's thick
- that it grows fast
- that it's finally waist length
- that my ends have much less split ends than they had last year after bleaching
- my current hair colour
I dislike:
- my natural hair colour
- frizziness

I love:
That right now my hair grows about 3/4 of an inch every month.
That I have silver streaks starting at the front of my hair line.
That I have learned that I have curly hair not unmanageable hair.
I hate:
That my hair is so short right now (this is not my hairs fault per say).
My natural mousy brown color (I do however like the silver so it's staying unless I stain it with Manic Panic).
How frizzy my hair get's whenever there is even a little bit of humidity in the air (thank goodness we live in an arid climate.
That the longest my hair has ever been is just past BSL/touching MBL and I worry that that may very well be my terminal length.

I love:
That it's fairly thick.
That it doesn't tangle too much.
The color. (blonde)
That it grows quickly.
That I can put it into some nice updos.
That it's soft.
That it looks good overall and gets compliments.
I hate:
My annoying bangs that I'm growing out.
That the bottom half is not virgin and is fragile.
My bumpy, uneven waves.
That it doesn't hold braid waves for long.
How easily it looks greasy.

June 30th, 2012, 11:35 AM
I love:
The length
The way it fades color naturally
The fact that it's virgin
The curls I can achieve SOMETIMES
The smell
All of the attention it attracts :D
I dislike:
How slow it grows
The frizz
How easily I get splits
The dryness
How quickly my scalp greases up
My fringe that refuses to grow
Jing
June 30th, 2012, 12:07 PM
I love:
That it's wurly
That it's soft
That I never find any split ends
My four little sparklies!
That it's fairly dark in colour
My natural blonde streaks (temples and nape hairline)
That it's shiny
I dislike:
The red tint
The layers
That it won't stay in updos
The fact that I can't oil my scalp
The fact that I didn't inherit my father's early greying genes
That it's sparse
That it grows straight forward, so I can't pull it back for updos neatly
That it doesn't grow 6 inches per month. Naww, but I'm so impatient lately.

I love that my hair is strong despite years of abuse
and that I rarely have split ends
its natural texture
AND most of all, my solid inch growth each month!
I dislike my layers
and lack of moisture

I like:
- it is not curly anymore but a bit wavy (no offence to the girls with curly hair, but mine was a nightmare). Mostly because I have never heard of CO washing and had no idea what to do with it, plus it was terribly coarse.
- it's quite thick naturally
- the volume gives appearance that is thicker
- it does not break and split, when I threat it right
- likes coconut and avocado oil just like I do :p
- likes natural products
I dislike:
- it's shedding often
- natural color is a bit to dark to get the color I want with henna
- ends in my front hair that are not virgin, are thin and stringy (from dye, heat, shedding)
- it feels like wire and gets frizzy when it's humid
- doesn't like protein and it's pretty stringy now, since I forgot that yogurt is actually a protein treatment and mixed it with cassia
- it's pretty picky when it comes to conditioners
- it's to short! ;)
- it seems to be growing slower in the back
- it's not soft and it's quite stiff

I love:
The shine
The softness
The color, it's nice by itself, and it's light enough to dye and get crazy colors.
Thickness
My natural highlights
Dislike:
Cowlicks
It's very prone to tangles
I wish it was longer!

June 30th, 2012, 12:47 PM
Likes:
My curl pattern (I like tight curls)
My thickness/volume, bc I adore lions manes
How healthy my hair is
How fast it grows (mostly due to lack of breakage instead of great speed)
That my hair routine is easy to make it happy
Dislikes:
My hair is very picky in it's routine. It's hard to change things and still have it look good.
The curliness killed the shine. My hair is matte and I've always loved shiny hair.
Proneness to frizz. Slight things can break my curls, I love to touch my hair, and that leads to frizz.
I currently have too much hair for short 'dos and too little hair for long 'dos. So it just hangs out.

Love - That my hair is so versitail
Dislike - That my hair has a mind of it's own
Being a 2A I can wear my hair stright or curly. But my hair is fine and thick, so the question often becomes, will my hair cooperate today? If I think, Today I wish for body and beautiful waves. My hair says, "HAHAHAha, oh yea? Well I feel a sleaky flat day comming on." Some days I will wake up with a headful of wild borderline 2B curls and I will think, Oh yay! Now how can I make this look good without loosing it? Hair says, "Ha Ha! You Fail! That was such a tease." ....it's a very naughty head of hair... but hey it fits my personality quite well... LOL
Love - That my hair is virgin
Dislike - That I had to cut so much off to get it that way
I had dyed my hair for YEARS. Then with a collection of issues and life experiences I desided to stop. I wanted to grow out my hair long but not just have long hair but long beautiful healthy hair. I was also starting to have allergies to dye. Any kind of dye. Box, salon, henna... it would all swell up my sinuses. So I began with growing it out long enough to where I could cut out the dye without compleatly looking like a boy haircut. Then I had it chopped up to a long bob. Had I not cut the dye out my hair would probably be waist by now but I think when it's all said and done the end result of beautiful natural hair will out weight the time I've lost in the process. Not to mention I chose this method rather than letting it all grow and then cutting it because I knew that if I wanted till it was the length I wanted to cut I would have a hard time convencing myself to cut it off...
Love - My grays and my natural wave
Dislike - People who think it's ok to tell me how I should keep my hair
As my waves go, alot of people cant understand why I would want them. I often get strange looks when I say I'm trying to enhance my curl. I guess perhaps because it's not what's "in vouge"? Who knows. Most recently I was looking for curl enhancing products and the hairdress I was talking to kept saying, "You don't need that" ...ok fine... thats an opionuion... but then she goes on to tell me how I need a haircut.. I just had a trim the 21st... I insisted that yes I did want products to help incurage my natural hair type and texture.. To which my responce was, "You just need some moose and a good round brushing" .....Really?
As the grays go... I am always being told, "oh you should do somthing about that". When I respond that I'm fine with it? "Oh you'll change your mind" No, I wont change my mind. How hard is it to belive that I may acctually like my gray hair? My all time favorite comment ever though was,
"You look too young to have that hair!"
Thank you? lol....
As someone else commented here on the board recently, "Why hide your wisdom?" -Love that quote whoever said it.

I like that it is so easy to care for. No major dislikes here.

July 1st, 2012, 05:39 AM
Like:
- Hair is thick enough to still be a lot of hair even if I lose some (that happened the last couple of years due to meds and stress, it's coming back now).
- Hair grows reasonably fast (it's been in what I think of as a "stall" for the last year, which means closer to 0.5" growth per month than 1", so I totally can't complain).
Dislike:
- Crazy frizz. My new hairs do not lie down AT ALL as they are growing in, until they get to be 5" or 6" in length. I also have a halo of "baby hairs" around my hairline that have a terminal length of 1" - 2". It's impossible for me to make an updo look remotely sleek without major product. If my hair is freshly washed and I brush it out when dry, it is HUGE. Not 'fro-level huge like my curly DH would get, but still way big.
- Seborrheic dermatitis (that's really more scalp than hair, but still). I can't stop using sulfate-based shampoos because my scalp goes crazy if I do, and I can't stop using 'cones because my hair goes crazy if I use sulfates without 'cones. My hair still looks OK and has a strong wave pattern, but based on my frizz I think it might be properly curly (2c/3a), which I would love, if I could somehow magically stop with the sulfates and 'cones.

For me I love the colour now I've got rid of the hendigo and am near enough back to my natural colour , I love the length and condition, I hardly ever get any splits since using baby oil and I love the speed my hair now grows since stopping smoking.
I dislike loosing a lot of my natural wurls and how my hair gets thinner on the ends as it gets longer.
Overall I love my hair, because it's took dedication and patience to get to my length, I've messed about with the colour which I regret, but I am at last at peace with my hair.

I love:
-the fact it is fairly straight (curly hair baffles me)
-the fact it easily sun-bleaches and gives me natural high/low lights
-how easy it is to take care of
I hate:
-how oily it gets (still a 'greasy teenager')
-how easily I get split ends/damage
-my scalp psoriasis

I love my:
Natural color.
Steady growth rate.
Waves.
Lack split ends. :D
I dislike:
How rough and dry my hair gets sometimes.
The amount of frizz I get, because I haven't learned how to care for my hairtype yet.
The fact that my hair doesn't like any routine I give it.

July 2nd, 2012, 12:55 AM
I love:
-- its shine
-- its density and thickness
-- its natural very very dark brown/soft black color
-- that it's "big" and makes me stand out from the crowd
-- how forgiving and easy my scalp is, no matter what the routine (example: had no flakes or dandruff ever in my life)
-- that it's wiry and wild
I dislike:
-- relatively slow growth rate
-- that the curls vanished (not long ago I had 2c/3a hair)
-- that it gets sunbleached so easily and turns into a reddish brown
-- that it's wiry and wild

I like:
How old ladies compliment the curls
It's curly, but light on my head and not too heavy
That it holds in hairstyles well!
Looks nice in a ponytail
That its not overly sensitive to my treatments and experiments :P
I dislike:
Not being able to brush it to make look neater
Uneven sunbleaching!
Sensitivity to humidity!!
Curls not very much liked by most of society :(
Wishing I had ruler straight hair =P

July 2nd, 2012, 01:18 AM
I like my big, fat spirals. I like the color, a golden brown that juuuust crosses the line into auburn territory. I like that the color gradient corellates with the texture gradient; the coarser hairs are darker. I like that it grows reletively fast. I like that it's fairly indestructible; I can use cheap products with few problems. I don't like that it doesn't shine naturally. I don't like that it's heavy.

Ahhhhhhh your hair is GORGEOUS!! :joy: I used to want wavy or curly hair sooo bad, I thought my hair was so boring (it used to always look straight with some curve at the ends.) But then I realized it was all the brushing and products I was using that was straightening my hair! I let my hair air dry like the hair typing tutorial showed and I freaked out at the hair I never knew I had.
Anyway...
I like:
My waves
My natural color and the dyed color it is now
My hemline/pony thickness
How it feels healthy even with most of the length currently dyed
I dislike:
Brushing out tangles...ouch
How my beloved BBB makes my hair straight :(
Frizzies!
The fact that most of my length is dyed permanent red and it will take forever to grow it all out if I decide to do that
Roots against dyed hair :(

Thank you, everyone, for your participation :)
Another dislike of mine is these stupid bangs I cut. I regret cutting them so much. But they're lip level now when stretched (they were eye level in April?!!?!?), so I can't wait for them to go. They shrink a lot when they're curly, though :(

Likes: I like how thick my hair is
How shiny it is
How fast it grows
How rarely it get split ends
My hair is naturally a nice black shade
It's straight
Dislikes
Sometimes I think my hair is the cookie monster it literaly eats up my clips and bobbie pins and I cant find them until I get my fine tooth comb and comb them out and sometimes it takes my comb as well and I have to rescue it!
I like my natural haircolor but I don't like how it gets sun bleached so bad that it turns medium brown
I don't like how it doesn't curl well even when I braid it when its soaking wet.
In the summer I feel twenty degrees hotter on my head and neck
When my baby hairs come in they grow in clumps and they stand straight up so it makes my mom notices she questions if I cut my hair
Mmmm... that's about it

I love:
- My natural wave, and loose curls I get at the temples (the curls usually show up after an ACV rinse.)
- It air dries fairly quickly.
- the 20-40 gray hairs that have popped up over the course of the past couple years.
- It is naturally brown. I love brown hair and would probably want to dye it all the time if I had been born blonde.
- It is just long enough to begin doing interesting updos.
- How soft it feels after an ACV rinse (can you tell I like ACV rinses?)
- My bangs :)
I dislike:
- I must wash my hair at LEAST every other day or it begins to get very oily. My bangs help a bit with that, as the bang area is where it is most oily, so I can just wash my bangs and put the rest up in a stick.
- It's thinness. I am on the lower end of "normal" thickness on the hair chart, but I wish it were a bit thicker. Hopefully I will accomplish that as I grow out my heat and dye damage.
- The layers. Cannot wait until they are gone.
- the heat and dye damage.
- how easily I get split ends (but hopefully that is another thing that will change when the damage is gone.)
- FRIZZ! gah!
- And of course, it needs to be longer. ;) I just wish I would reach BSL already!

Your colour is lovely, and you're hair is really thick anyway you silly :)
I like that I suit straight fine hair (which is what I have, although curly hair is fun sometimes too
I like that my hair feel softer now, really liking my body shop shampoo
I'm growing to like my colour but this is still a battle
I don't mind my hair this length, its quite cute
I dislike how I've had multi coloured hair from hair dye for ages and how long it will take again to grow the dye out
Also it would be nice if my fringe would catch up with the rest of my hair, but just have to be patient I guess

I love:
How soft and silky my hair is
The color (even though it's not natural, but I'm not concerned with having virgin hair)
That it is easy to curl and holds curl well
I dislike:
How fine it is
How thin it is
The lack of volume
That I can never try henna (I love being blonde, but I would also love to be a redhead for awhile...but it would never work with my skin tone)

That I never get split ends (haven't trimmed in 6+ months and zero to speak of)

It gets dirty fast

I like:
The colour, I enhance the red tones with the occasional honey lightening and herb rinses and I'm pretty happy with it.
The wurly ends and little spirals in the finer parts near the hairline.
The shine.
The fact it's back to growing really fast!
I don't like:
The frizz tendencies.
Uneven bumpy waves when airdried.
That is takes ages to dry.
How it poofs up if I brush it when it's dry.

The fact that I have to wash it so often

Great thread idea :). Okay, here goes.
What I like/love:
-It's soft silkiness
-It's easy. Long as I've got conditioner, I'm set.
-It's got texture. I'd feel really depressed if it didn't do anything
-How I can comb/brush it and still be okay
-It's usually shiny
-It's slowly thickening up, but would look thick anyway because its got volume
-My scalp can take just about anything. Its not hair, but its where the hair comes from, so I think it counts
What I dislike:
-The ends. They're a bright copper, split, fairy-knotted, devoid, and overall dead due to their history. But I can't cut them off yet.
rena
July 4th, 2012, 02:16 AM
I dislike:
The fact that I didn't inherit my father's early greying genes.
It's so funny, I'm the exact opposite. I live in constant fear of my father's early graying genes. Don't get me wrong, sparklies are beautiful, but I'm just not ready for mine to take over my head just yet!

-the way it doesn't get splits or break off
-its density

*I love my curls and waves!
*I love the shine
*I love all the volume
*I love that its pretty healthy
*I love that it grows fast! (except now b/c i'm obsessing about getting to waist lenth)
*I love that I don't have to curl it
*I don't like that it frizzes
*I wish it wasn't as dry
*I wish my layers and side bangs would grow out already because my ponytail is about 4 inches in diameter and without my bangs and layers it would be like 6 or 7 inches!
*I dislike the shrinkage because I want to see my true length
Overall I love my hair and am working on improving all the things I dislike ;)

What I like:
- The thickness. Every hairdresser I've ever been to has commented on it.
- My natural color. It's a chestnut brown with a cool little blonde streak in front and it gets red highlights in sunlight.
- How well it holds moisture. The fact that I live in a temperate rainforest might have something to do with this, though.
- How well it holds styles now that I've stopped using shampoo and gone water only.
- My little baby hairs in front! I know a lot of people dislike theirs, but I have kind of a strong jawline and I think they soften up my face when I wear my hair up.
What I dislike:
- The damage I accidentally did to my ends from using baking soda on dyed hair. :( Pre-LHC mistakes...
- How freakin' long it's taken to get past the flip-phase at SL. Too much trimming to help alleviate the ends.
- The weird little squiggly hairs I've been randomly finding recently. I have 1b hair and these hairs are very coarse and tightly coiled. I have no idea how they are occurring. Damage from rough handling, maybe?
It's neat seeing how everyone likes their hair quirks. It's wonderful seeing people appreciate their natural hair on here instead of feeling the need to conform to stick-straight blonde.

What Body Shop shampoo are you using at the moment? I tried some of the conditioner from their Rainforest collection and had a bit of an allergic reaction to it...again! I seem to be super sensitive to shampoos etc. these days. I do love their Banana shampoo and condish though! So lush.
You know I really like your hair colour, so it shouldn't be a battle for you to like it ;) It's very pretty!

I actually really like my hair. It's mine, you know? It only belongs to me, and that makes it special. ;)
I do regret not learning how to handle it better a long time ago. I regret feeding into so many media messages about what hair is supposed to do and be. I regret not being a hair rebel sooner. :D
I do wish that just once, I could find out what it's like to have hair that's beautifully smooth, fine, and thin. I'll never know what it feels like to have hair that just stays where it is and doesn't try to mate with everything within reach. Hair's not supposed to be alive, but mine sure does a good imitation of it!

Well, im learning how to love my curls more and more. I realize that i dont have to hold on to any expectations of what long hair SHOULD look like for me except that i want it to be healthy and show what it really is. I love how it grows faster than i think! and that the color is just so pretty to me.

I love that my hair is strong.
It doesn't break or split too much.
It looks thicker than it is.
I don't have to put it up.
It can handle a lot of coloring.
It is what it is and I don't have to "style it"
I can't straighten it or perm it.
It doesn't like heat.
It frizzes when I use my favorite brush.
It needs deep conditioning and some oil.
It feels like horse hair if it hasn't been chemically colored.
My natural color is BLAH!
Henna gives it color but my virgin hair feels like WIRE!
My hair is what it is. Its been thinned in the past. Its been layered. It isn't too much work. It sheds and regrows so there are always shorter hairs mixed in. There is no point in protecting it from the elements. It is gonna look about the same no matter what I do to it. And don't even ask "what if you...." chances are I've indeed done that and done it too death just to be sure it would not work for me!!! "But you'd just love it all natural! It would be great!" I grew virgin hair to my waist and never did fall in love with it. My virgin hair was not the bomb! lol

I'll play. :)
Likes:
Natural colour - golden brown, shines nice in the sun
Thickness - although I wish it were a bit thicker
Coarseness - it's very resilient!
Doesn't tangle much
Dislikes
Taper, taper, taper!!!
My scalp - but I think it has gotten better with tea tree oil in my shampoo and scalp massages
That I have to grow for a long time to have only my natural colour (have about half/half henna and natural)
So, all my dislikes are fixable. That's good! :D

I love :
The texture
The colour
Thickness not to thick not to thin (for now)
I'm starting to like my natural colour (eventually going to try all virgin hair.)
Dislike:
Not long enough
Not virgin
Heavily layerd
Its so fragile
Tangles so easily

I love:
The shine
The color, with natural highlights
My thickness, it looks thick but is not TOO thick that its hard to make buns
It is finally long enough to make a pony, gibson tuck or other updos
That it is now long enough to braid in twin braids
I dislike:
My waves are unpredictable and uneven
it is too wavy to be straight, but too straight to be truly wavy
Sometimes my hair decides to be straight from the roots up to about the last two or three inches, then do a HUGE flip like the letter J. It looks silly.

I love the length, overall health, and potential for interesting updos.
I hate the texture, frizziness, poofiness, thinness, and tangleness (is that last one even a word?).
I am bored by the colour, but don't want to go through the trouble of maintaining a different one.

I love how thick my hair is!
I love that i have a terminal length that is beyond classic (i had classic when i was about 12 years old and i haven't grown taller since so my terminal should still be beyond classic!)
I love the colour of my hair (its henna´d though so its not natural!)
I love my waves and my very fem spiral curls!
I love the texture of my hair
I love how my hair is still on my scalp after years and years of torture!
I dislike how slowly it grows!
Thats about the only thing :)
Or, well, i dislike myself for treating it badly in the past, which eaves me with damaged hair. But thats my own fault and not my hairs fault!

I love that its not short and super thick. I wish I had thicker hair but I know some people with such thick hair that it makes me appreciate my fine hair-sometimes!;) Right now thats about all I like
I hate that it is so damaged and not my natural color. For most of my life I have hated my dishwater-ash blonde hair. And now that I am trying to embrace it-I cant get it! Thats a story all on its own though.

Hey, I posted in this thread before. :D Now I can give an updated response.
I'm still happy with all of the above.
However, I can now add that I love how soft and happy my hair is! I found shampoo and conditioner that makes it happy, and so I can stretch washes. Suuuper soft! And wicked shiny.
The only things I don't like now are my henna color growing out (my own damn fault), and the fact that I have bangs to grow out (also my own damn fault.)
I am quite happy with my hair now, overall.

I love the amazing thickness, the dark brown color which glitters fiery red in sunlight (my natural color). :D I love the texture, it's barely wavy, just enough so it doesn't lie boring and dead flat. I love how it frames my face and makes me look more feminine.
I dislike the current length which makes the ends flip out, so I have to flat iron it. But it will be better in time. :)

I have the feeling I've posted in a thread just like this, but whatever.
I like:
That my growth rate is average or slightly faster, not slower.
That my thickness is reasonable.
My curls, when they're behaving or brushed into waves. (I use a Tangle Teezer, which isn't really that much of a no but doesn't leave my curls intact either.)
My natural color.
I dislike:
That the bottom of my hair is dyed red and looks kind of off.
The split ends, fairy knots and whatnot.
The length, of course! :p It'll be too short for many years to come, because my end goal is terminal length.
The layers. They tend to get away when I put my hair up, but that's getting less lately. They're also not the easiest thing to S&D.
That my scalp is so incredibly hard to get clean and has a propensity for producing dandruff.

I love...
The natural dark brown of my hair that glimmers reddish in the sunlight
The texture of my hair
The medium thickness that is not *thin*, but is easy to work with
That my hair is straight
The slight waves it makes when hanging free
How it feels when swinging loose
That it just grazes the top of my rear when I stand straight
I dislike...
That it grows so slowly
So, all told... I really adore my hair! :-D

Love my color, length, even texture, but HATE my super oily scalp. Been stretching washes for months now, it does not seem to be helping one bit.

I love that my hair is wavy, thick and blonde. I love that it is getting really long. I love that my hair is very versatile and that I can do lots of styles with it now.

I love:
The way it easily curls (and stays curled) from a simple bun.
How it rarely ever gets splits.
How it grew back after all this time.
How shiny is always is.
I dislike:
The natural, and dyed, colour.
How flat it is at the top, no matter what I do.
How quickly it gets greasy looking.
How it never looks 'right' when worn down.
