I last had my haircut done professionally last July when I was at shoulder length. I decided to grow it out soon thereafter and have been scared to go in. I've been trimming my own fringe and did one self trim of my longest layer about 3 months ago to get rid of my worst ends.

But because my hair is layered I still had a lot of bad ends throughout from flat iron damage. And all my highlights had grown out and I wanted those redone.

So I swallowed my fear and made an appointment.

I was just below BSL this morning (longest layers hit below the bottom of my bra band). I am still BSL but now at the very top of the band. My hair seems to be growing pretty fast so I'm not too concerned about the lost length.

The before shot is first in the grey flowered shirt, and the after in the blue shirt. Not sure how much of a difference you can see. The highlights are very subtle. My hemline looks a little crooked to me in the after shot, but I've got some wave going on so it's hard to be sure. I'm going back in tomorrow to take my son in for a cut also and I might have them re-check it if it still looks odd to me in the morning.

Great cut. Your hair looks so health. I would never have guessed you have highlights. I'm glad you had a good experience at the hair salon.

Highlights? I'd mistake it for differences in lighting if you hadn't said. So nice to hear of good salon experiences.

That is great, congrats! Wish I had the courage for such a trim right now, but I am barely at BSL,

Your cut looks really good! I would never have noticed that you had highlights done. I'm glad that you seem to have found a good stylist.

Thanks everyone! The stylist is a male with shoulder length hair, so I don't know why I was worried really.

I can't see any highlights but your hair looks lovely. The hemline does appear to be crooked in the photo, I would have it double checked.
