has anybody ever had a bad reaction to a hair dye

I have just bought Garnier nutrisse ultra colour and it says that it contains phenylenediamines which can cause severe reactions. I have never used garnier colourants before, however i have used clairol, L'oreal and john frieda which i am sure also contain this ingredients and i have never had a reaction.

I was wondering if anybody has ever had a reaction to a dye and if it was a reaction to a patch test or after applying it to your head.
Did you use dye before without a problem?
or are you prone to allergies?

I am wary of even doing a patch test now. Also it says do not use on hair that has been henna'd. I have used henna but it is lush, so does not contain metallic salts.

yes ... I did a little red semi hair-dye and had an itchy scalp for like a week and a half- you MUST do the patch test. I have sensitive skin and have used that hair dye without a reaction before...

i'm just hoping that if i do get a reaction from the patch test it won't be severe as it is only a small amount of the product
