Ok I'm not sure what my hair type is. I don't understand what the 1a 1b and 1c and so on mean. I'm sorry I feel so ignorant. lol!

The best thing to do is give your hair a good wash with JUST shampoo, the let it air dry without touching it (not even finger combing) then you can post and the others will be able to give you totally awesome advice :3 you can't really find your hair type if you comb it, or use products since that'll change the way the hair lies. It was really hard for me to figure out mine, in fact I just discovered it tonight! But the best judge will always be you, since it's your hair.
I'm still pretty new myself, so I'm not even going to try to explain how each number is different lol I'll let someone more qualified give it a shot :)

I've always like charts like this:

So much easier than words. Unfortunately, most of them skip the 1s and just say "straight".

I'd love to see some pics of the difference between 1a,b, and c as well. I feel like the straighties are lumped together almost as much as the 4s.

I love this--it's so nice and clear. Thanks for posting it!

Oh and also you will find that there are a few diffrent hair typing methods floating around but that link will give you an idea of what is generally thought of here I think....

The curly girl method for example puts 1's as "straight", 2's as "S" wavy / wavy leaning towards curls, 3's as more ringlet curl types and 4's as the super curlies

if you research the diffrent methods it acctually helps in identification because although they are all a touch diffrent they are basically giving there own explinations for the same basic thing
