So I've been reading through here, and I see posts about other clarifying. What is it? What do you use? And when do you need it?

If I am not mistaken.. clarifying is simply a complete removal of all the oil / dirt / product build up on your head.. It isn't the same as a normal wash. It would be like a "deep cleanse" and depending on your routine, you really shouldn't need this very often.

For once a month clarifying, I plan on using about one tablespoon baking soda in 2 cups warm water, rinsed through my hair and rubbed in a couple of minutes before rinsing out. I plan to do this once a month to get rid of any buildup from oils or conditioners. I did use the baking soda/ apple cider vinegar method for cleaning my hair for about a month straight before I found TLHC. Then I learned that this method was likely too harsh for regular use. I didn't notice any damage from that month, but I use other, more gentle methods of cleaning my hair and scalp now.
