View Full Version : Am I actually a wavy hair?

I was inspired by a current thread to do the "clarify and air dry with no conditioner whatsoever" thing on my own hair. My hair feels surprisingly nice after this too, not super dry and crunchy like I feared. And while I can't see a huge difference from the way my hair air dries when conditioned (but without combing), it does look like my hair is a bit wavier than usual. Could it be that I'm actually a wavy-hair?

What do you think? My husband thinks that the layers make it look wavier than it should be, because my length and underside layers are nearly stick straight. I've grown up being told that I have straight hair, but I've known for a long time that it's not perfectly straight. There have always been areas in my hair that no matter how many times I wet it and comb it through, it quickly gets "dents" again.

Certainly appears to have a definite tendency to be wavy.

Perhaps after your next shampooing and conditioning, you might let it air dry and then take a pic and see how it looks (just for comparison to your indoor pics).

There are waves, but they don't travel down to the bottom of your hair. Nonetheless, I'd say you have soft waves :)

1C sounds about right for your hair type. It's pretty.

I'd agree that you are a 1c as well, so the waviest of the straight hair types. Welcome to the club!

Welcome to the Wavies! :D Glad to have you. Is't it fun realizing your hair isn't what you thought it was?
