So I'm at my mother in law's place for a week on vacation and I've been telling her all the cool hair stuff I've learned while we were away. Anyways, she's curious about a hair routine she could start but her hair type is WAY different than mine. So without reading oodles of posts, I'm asking for some "top ten" type things I could tell her

Her hair is waist length, starting to grey, course, and between a strong wave and curly.

Right now she uses head and shoulders and washes every second day.

Ideas my LHC geniuses?

Conditioner only washes or perhaps she should check out the Curly Girl method. It would be a good book for her to check out.

SLS-free shampoo, if she's not willing to CO.
Try leaving in some conditioner.

If I recall correctly, the head&shoulders label has a warning about using it on dyed or gray hair. I think it might be an advisory to do expecially long rinsing. Have her check its label about that.

Her hair sounds lovely. I hope you can get her started on a kinder routine for her hair. Perhaps you could give her some shampoo and conditioner you think would be better suited to her hair's needs?
