Hi All.

I'm looking for a particular type of hair toy and I don't know the name.

Basically, it's a decorated leather strap with two holes punched in it, and a metal or wooden hairstick that slides through the leather. It's used to secure updos and buns.

What are these called and does anyone have a favorite Etsy seller or online store for them?

Oh :3 those are leather hair "slides" though I can't recommend a seller I've seen quite a few good reviews for someone or another on here. *panders around* I'm sure I could dig it up somewhere...

I love them! I found one on Ebay, but if you search etsy for a hair slide some should come up.

Beadmask (http://www.etsy.com/shop/beadmask?section_id=5620490) is a well-regarded Etsy vendor for that sort of thing.

These are what I've been drooling over for months, but I can't justify the expense.

So I'll keep looking for leather ones that I like...

There are quite a few at this link, there are decorative ones, plus plainer ones lower down the page. The prices are lower than one would expect on Etsy, but I've bought quite a few items from them and they're good quality, though the sticks don't have the highly polished finish one would expect from Etsy, I tend to give then a coat of nail varnish.
