View Full Version : Updos that require frizz

Since we're smack in the middle of frizz season in my neckathewoods
I've noticed my updos staying in better all on their own
and it got me thinking about capitalizing on the qualities of my frizz -
in the right conditions I can do a twist that stays in for awhile all by itself.
Not all of my hair does this, just my canopy
so I'm trying to figure out a way to use my canopy ropes
to secure a slippery-er under layer.

Realizing my updos/hair is a medium in the same way that paint is, or knitting -
they both scratch the same itch.

As Queen of Frizz, let me just say that anything that requires twisting or gentle knotting holds up a like a soldier.

It's so nice to be able to decorate your hair without worrying about securing it. I say roll wit it and enjoy it while it happens.

I noticed if I do purposefully frizzy braid waves I can get little hair miracles to happen in the way of updos. Otherwise my slippery straight hair will houdini out almost anything.

The ropes are almost dreadlocks
and I keep having this hazy vision of using them to anchor a cool updo.
When I take the ropes out, the hair is stretched, clumpy and much smoother -
I like to keep it that way during the day so it'll be that way come evening
and I have a possibility of wearing it down
depending on its' mood.
Always looking for that protective, easy, hip updo
that when taken down cascades into beautiful waves.
