I've been dying to try some '60s hairstyles, but unfortunately most of them require heavy teasing. I was toying with the idea of ignoring the potential damage threat and just going for it. But thanks to so many lovely long-hairs, I was encouraged in some different ways, and they worked!

This was accomplished with the help of a piece of pantyhose wrapped up in my hair rat.

Love it! Bardot's tousled, femme-fatale chignons are my absolute favorite! Very vintage pattern for the headband as well!

Yes, please! I love it! I'd love to know how to stick the pantyhose in there to make it do that. I'm always searching for uplift and volume for things like this but I don't want to tease my hair :(

Lovely hair style! As rewusted, I'd also like to know how you got the panythose to stay put! :)
It's a great looking style and sometimes I wish I didn't know teasing hurt the hair.

Really lovely! Now all you need is to be flitting about Paris in monochrome. ;)

I'd appreciate instructions or a tutorial too! :)

I still crave her ultra-tousle, but I don't think I can truly achieve it without at least some teasing.

The headband is a belt from a vintage dress.

I flit around Paris in colour every day, does that count? :D

I've been collecting my fallen hairs to create a hair rat, but still didn't have enough to make a proper sized one. So I cut a piece of old pantyhose, rolled it up, and wrapped my little hair rat around it. It does look quite convincing.

There were some excellent suggestions for no-tease volume offered here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=94949).

I took the hair at my crown and pulled it forward so that I could pin the rat right at the crown. (I pinned it very securely so I wouldn't have any loose rat issues. ;)) I smoothed the hair over it and pinned that, too. The rest of my hair was a little curly from a sock bun, and I just gathered it up in a pretty random manner and pinned it where it looked good. I must have had at least 25 pins in my hair. :p

I'm not the best with giving instruction, so if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to try to answer them. Thank you all for the sweet comments!

Oh, I love it! Did you curl the ends or just pin them up sort of wavy? It looks very Brigitte Bardot.

They were left over sock bun curls. :)

I love it, it looks much softer than other versions I've seen. I can see my sister doing this.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't much care for the stiff-looking '60s styles. I prefer soft and moveable. :)

How pretty! Not Bardot, but better. Softer, and not "trying hard not to look like I am trying to look sexy." haha

Just googled Bridget Bardot images, this is way cuter than her updos. I will be trying this when I get more length, thanks for sharing!
