Hi all, I was browsing on etsy (I like to just type 'hair' in the search box and see what I find-yes, I have no life) and I came across this awesome looking little doohickey!

It's essentially a special wrap which you heat and then coil your hair in like a sock bun, but without the sock! Good news for me because my hair refuses to roll up in a sock bun without matting up an generally misbehaving. It looks relatively simple, is reasonably priced, and looks like a very safe way to curl hair. I am so getting one! Roll on payday.

Hehe I do that too. Hours of fun!

Wow that does look neat, and it's only $15? Not too bad lol I don't own a head-wrap of any kind so maybe I should look into this. It would be nice to protect my hair with a conditioner during the brutal hot campus walks and have pretty curls for going out afterwards. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty cool. I've never seen that before. Anyone here tried something like that?

I often use a silk scarf in a similar way to create curls on damp hair, a heated version would be fabulous, though whether I'll get one I'm not sure.

I see people can invent hair accessories I wouldn't even think about! Cool. I'd pick a nice pattern and wear in in the wild world, not just at home to create curls.

The hair would have to be pretty short still, though, it's not that big a scarf!

I wondered if the hair could be doubled up if it were longer, maybe? Though then it would be hard to get it neat.

I tried this once with a regular scarf, not with the wonder bun product with the little grains or what have you inside. My hair did need to go into a ponytail first (with an elastic band), as it was way too thick to lie down on its own on the scarf properly to be able to roll it nicely. A regular scarf works just as well, I got nice curls, and you can even take a bigger scarf if you have longer hair. My hair was dampened a little first, prior to rolling it up.

I just folded a bandana in half, folded the end down a little like she did in the video, and proceeded as directed. Hair was bunned after washing this morning, still a little damp when I took it down to do this, can't wait to see what kind of curls I have in the morning. I did have to put a scrunchi ponytail in since my hair is thick, fairly short and layered. If this works nicely, I just might have to invest in a wonder bun! The heating element would be nice.

This is how I curl my hair all the time, just using a regular bandanna overnight.

I just wrapped my length up in a scarf as a proof of concept test. It's surprisingly comfy! Also delightfully goofy looking.

Spectacularly cheesy name. WONDER BUN! :cheese: I'd feel like a superhero wearing that.

Interesting... but I have my reservations.

The concept looks similar to the microwavable heating packs my family makes for cramps. Find a closely knit or woven fabric, sew a large pouch, fill it with dried rice or tapioca pearls, sew it closed, and sew it into sections as necessary to keep the grains from all dropping to one end. It is a decent substitute for an electric heating pad, and it can also be chilled if you desire.

I'll have to say, my curls came out pretty well for my length, and it was very comfortable to wear/sleep in. I just might need one of these for faster set time! :D

I'm unsure now, my scarf created curls came out insanely well.... But were literally gone within an hour :( Also my scalp is quite sensitive and kinda felt sore just from having my hair combed up, even though it was quite loose!
Hmm, I just realized its five days since I washed my hair. Maybe that's why they fell out so fast? There wasn't much oil in it but it feels grubby :/

It sounds interesting but I also have some reservations. My first problem is that the hair should be combed upward. My hair just doesn't do that without becoming one big tangle and even if I got it up just the thought of getting it to change directions again with curls in it creates damage shudder: As others have mentioned it also seems a bit small if you have long and/or thick hair.
It's very nice to see new, hair friendly inventions though.

I actually do this every night with a scunci on top of my head and my hair slightly damp. It is comfy but I also use a clip to keep it on top of my head. I separate my bangs out and do a pin curl in the front.
It is lovely, no heat and so easy to do at night and in the morning. :D

If anyone tries this, please post results! It sounds like a great idea to me but I would like to see a LHC review first. Anyone game?
