View Full Version : Hip length for 2013!

Jesabel
June 11th, 2012, 06:54 AM
I saw a waist for 2013, but not a hip length one! I thought a lot of us aiming for waist by christmas who are aiming even longer would like to aim for a good solid hip in 2013 :)

Perhaps by this time next year or anywhere in 2013 depending on your goals, we could have our hip length hair!

I'll be doing this with trims to get rid of previous damage and layers, so fingers crossed! :cheese:

I'm currently between 27.5 and 28" (haven't yet measured this month). Waist is 29" and Hip is 33" on me.

I am hoping to reach waist by September 2012 and then spend until April 2013 trimming to grow out my layers. That would leave me 8 months to grow 4" so it is achievable. Count me in :D

Thanks LadyHazel :) Good luck on your journey to waist!

And welcome Oksana! I'm in a similar boat, I should reach waist before Christmas this year, but then I'll be trimming at waist for a few months before growing down to hip

Good luck, Jesabel! I too am looking for hip in 2013. I'm currently at 24.5" (BSL) and tailbone is about 33" (I had trouble finding a better point of reference by myself XD), so I think it's easily doable. Hopefully I can maintain it there until I grow out my dye from May 2011.

Where exactly is hip length? I'm maybe one inch past waist but my sides need to grow 3 more inches to really be considered caught up. I trim in a U-shape and only the tips might be trimmed, the rest can't reach the scissors. About how many inches til hip? And what is the next shortest goal after hip?

Jesabel
June 11th, 2012, 08:52 AM
Hip is different for everyone, some consider it the widest part of your torso and others like me measure by putting hands on my hip bonesthat you can feel at the front and using that point, but from the back of your body. If that makes sense? Solid hip for me is probably about 4 inches from waist (though I should measure). The closest length from then would be BCL (butt crack length, is what some people aim for :p) or tailbone :)

Oh and goodluck to you too artemisjade!

I would love to have hip by this time next year. I think I might aim for the end of next year though. I'm 29.5" now and waist is about 31.5" Hip is about 33" I think, I'm not very good at measuring. I was just going to grow to waist but I've realised that what I considered waist is actually more like hip to most people. I want my side length to catch up too before I really call anything waist, right now they are APL in front and only just past shoulder if I put them behind my head (this is because my hair was fethered in to frame my face when it was shorter) grr

I was hoping to make hip by November but i got bitten by the micro trimming bug  so if i don't make that goal i will be joining you for sure.

And bunzfan, I saw your thread about trimming to get rid of your layers your hair looks fantastic and your hemline so lovely! I hope you make your goal, but if not, welcome

MMEMEMEEMMEME!!! I am hoping to hit hip... again... with thicker hair... if I don't end up cutting it. I hate how thin it is and I keep wanting to cut it back to BSL or waist. *sigh* So here's to getting back to hip and healthy!

Jesabel
June 11th, 2012, 08:40 PM
Welcome Kome! I also want hip with thicker ends, so I'll be trimming along the way due to layers and previous damage :) Oh and it looks like we have a very similar hair type!

Ooh, I'll join!
I don't usually measure, but I have about an inch till waist, and then hip is pretty close, so I hope for hip around the beginning of next year. :)

I'm in! I'm hoping to reach hip by this autumn. My hair looks varied lengths on different photos. Actually I know it's waist+ but sometimes it really looks like it's not even waist!

June 12th, 2012, 04:31 PM
ME! I'm about 1" from waist, then it's about 3 inches to hip for me. Maybe I could even make TB by the end of 2013 if I stick to 2 microtrims in 2013 and 1 in 2012?

I'm in for 2013 hip! I'd love to reach hip by the end of this year but don't want to get too obsessed :)

Count me in! I'm going to get trims every few months, if I can find a good hairstylist in Toronto who won't wash/scrub my ends/blowdry before cutting  I couldn't bear to have the rest of my length be made of splits and broken bits.

Jesabel
June 12th, 2012, 10:20 PM
Ooh welcome everyone! Seems like 2013 will be a good year :D
Since I'm going to have to be trimming along the way thanks to old damage and layers, I'm going to set my specific realistic goal of hip for September 4th next year (my 20th birthday!)

ETA: I'll try and post a pic soon of my hair atm and where I'm calling hip, if I can get the picture thing sorted out :p maybe others can do the same?

I'm in! I should reach waist sometime this fall, I've got about 2.5" to go. Hip is about 4" past waist, so I'll reach hip hopefully by this time next year. At the very least, I'll reach hip SOMETIME in 2013.

I would join here if not for 2 little reasons.

1. I'm not sure I can grow till hip.

2. My hips are so far away from my waist, it's not even funny. I have such a long torso for a medium height person :(

Yay! Hopefully 2013 we will all be at hip :)

Does anyone do anything extra to help the growth along? Personally I take a multivitamin and a hair and nails one which has silica and biotin amongst other things. I also scalp massage with coconut or nightbloomings annointing oil with rosemary EO to both :)

DarkCurls
June 14th, 2012, 09:29 AM
I do scalp massages, but without anything.
I also joined the "wear your hair up for X amount of time" challenge for two months to retain growth. I always wear my hair down, after the challenge is over I intend to go 50/50.

I am now a little past waist and my goal is somewhere at about tailbone, but I'm thinking of making a stop at hip where I'll trim off my layers before growing to TBL. So I might be able to hit hip already in the beginning of 2013 (hopefully, since I do already do small trims to get rid of layers every few months), but will also stay there probably for the whole 2013 growing those layer suckers out, so I'll be hanging around here atleast until I hit hip. :)

MissCoco
June 14th, 2012, 12:30 PM
I reached waist length several months ago and am aiming towards tailbone or classic as my final goal, so I'm definitely joining this thread for the next milestone, which is hip length. :D Growth has been kind of slow for a while, but hopefully by 2013 it'll be there! Good luck to everyone! :toast:

And here's the picture to go with my post. the top of my hip bones is where I have my thumbs, but I probably won't consider myself properly hip length before I hit the "dimples" in my lower back. They're maybe a bit more than an inch past my thumbs. My hair was in a bun before the picture so my layers present themselves a little too obviously, although I don't think the ones showing there are the shortest ones I have.

Grow, grow! :)

I'm at waist now. I hope to be at hip by Jan 1 1013. Since my hair is curly, it's hard to say how long that will take, or how many inches that might be. I am at 33 inches now.

I think i belong here :-). Have reached tail bone twice being on LHC for so many years but chopped to waist not being happy with the thickness part. So here i am growing once again this time with more care. My tailbone is somewhere around 35" and now i am at a solid 30" so i should be at hip by next year with all the trimmings i plan to do. If i skip the trimmings i notice that i end up with a big chop lateron. So, thats a major requrement i feel for my kind of hair. I dont know i have noticed that if i pile up on extra vitamins my hair does grow fast but also sheds equally after a few months then again grows. So i am very careful with my diet, include proteins like yogurt, milk, fish and millet. I am not taking hair vitamins anymore instead stick on to calcium and a good multi along with fish oils. Included coconut oil massages every morning come what may. Use less shampoo or other products. So lets see, hopefully i will reach my goal this time which is thicker ends more than just length. Happy growing all of you. Its great to be with so many us riding the same boat, makes the journey easier, faster, thats why i love LHC

Mesmerise
June 18th, 2012, 06:19 AM
Hmm well you know... I MAY just make hip by the end of 2013, although it won't be all that "solid" (as I won't be trimming much and my ends will probably be straggly) and it will probably only get there stretched right out :D. I am hoping for waist by June next year, and hip is really only about 3" beyond waist on me, so if I can get to waist by June next year, I should be able to get another 3" by December!

(What's really depressing is if I hadn't gone nuts cutting off my thinner ends, I'd probably be at hip by now and could be focussing on maintaining ).

Jesabel
June 18th, 2012, 07:02 AM
Another Aussie! Haha :) I've been trimming along the way too which makes it really frustrating knowing I could be getting more growth but I've been trying to just do dustings until I get to waist even though I should probably go for a bigger trim! Oh well.

And even if it's by the end it still counts! I think you can do it

I am as much in it as possible!
One of the most often used jokes betwen DBF and me is "I won't leave my bedroom if my hair isn't hip length on our wedding day." (Sep.2013) I'm not serious but I would love to achieve it.
So, let's grow!

I *finally* had time to read this thread (there is so much here to read!) and I realize, this is so me. I'm at waist now, I have about 4.5 inches to get to hip. So this goal seems reasonable. I really think I can do it!

Funny, my eventual goal is fingertip length. At least, I think so. It's possible my hair can't do it, and it's also possible that at that length my hair won't be fun anymore, so I might change my mind. But right now it sounds great, and what sounds even better is getting to hip!

While I'm taking vitamins and doing scalp massages with various oils I'm trying to sort of make it my routine so I can do it "mindlessly" so to speak, and not worrying about my hair, because that's the worst part. Trying to stop myself looking at the length every day /sigh

May I join you? I have been at waist since december -11, and my hair grows soooo slow, less than 1 cm/month (yes, cm, not inches). Hip (32 inches) by december -13 is realistic I think since I've decided to trim 2 cm/year.

i am at waist length at 31" hip for me is 35.5" and only about1" above tail bone so i kinda consider TBL and hip the same on me and would be happy to gain another 4-6" and class it as either . consider this - my best friend who is the same height as me , enough that our shoulders are aligned (i am slightly shorter) our waist lines up our navels line up and she is very short waisted so her hips also are in line with her waist making her legs 4-5" longer than mine- for her waist and hip length are bit a 1/2" away
(envy- her hair grows ate a ridiculous rate reaching waist-tbl aprox. every 3 years then she will chop it off usually in a layered longish-shoulder style and grow it out again.)

currently maintaining to thicken ends and having quite an amount of success with condition improvements CO and deep moisturising conditioners, cone free and coconut oil treatments
my hair grows an easy 1/2'' / month and so will be heading for hip length in 2013
my ultimate goal is classic length at 45" but feel i may cut it back to hip once achieved ? will see

So I'm going to aim for UNIFORM, damage-free waist length hemline for Christmas instead. And in the photo is what hip length would be for me, so quite a ways to go! Let's see if that can actually happen in so short a time :/ I'll count the middle of 2013 if I have to, haha.

Kidnap an arrow and tell him you won't give it back unless he gives you the finished hairtoy.
The bow should also be an effective hostage. :eyebrows:

I'm currently flirting with waist, but plan on growing an inch past, then trimming back to it. (The plan is to do this every milestone until all that's left of my layers is a soft U hemline.)

So I think I will be solidly waist and trimmed by Crow Fair, which is a huge Native powwow we have here every August. Ater that I can think about reaching hip (with dustings). :cheese:

My hair slows down in fall, so I'm currently hoping for hip by Valentine's Day 2013.

Good luck to all!

And Ocelan, I looooove your dress!!! Your hair is gorgeous, too!

My new length shot is in my siggy! solid waist except for a few shorter layers! I had my boyfriend to take one this time, he's a bit longer than me so I kinda looked down on the floor, or at least more than I used to in my earlier length shots so i'm not perfectly happy with it but i couldnt take a pic myself this month :)

Congrats! It looks great, too! :D

Joined up with the "wear your hair up for a ______" challenge as a way to ignore my length for a while and then be pleasantly surprised (I hope) by growth when the challenge is done. I'm going to wear my hair up for 74 days (which is all of my summer vacation + my teacher inservice days and weekends). On day 75 (September 6) my new group of 8th grade students will enter my classroom. On that day I can start wearing my hair down again. I am going to try my best to not check my length until then, but I will still monitor this thread and post updates (like suddenly I can do a hairstyle I wasn't able to do before). I'm on day 4 of my challenge so far.

Answering this question, which I forgot to do before:
I try to do regular scalp massages with castor oil, and I try to take B vitamins, horsetail, and burdock whenever I can afford to buy them. I frequently substitute prenatals for a regular multivitamin (ok since I tend to be a bit low on iron), and I sometimes add a hair, skin, and nails vitamin (when I can afford it). I also try to regularly drink rooibos teaan and sometimes chamomile and nettle and oatstraw, as well, although it's easier to do in winter when I'm freezing cold. :)

This year I'm going to also try keeping my head warm on cold nights.

It sounds like a lot. Hmm. I guess I find it kinda fun. :)

Thanks so much! I love the dress too. Got it 2 years ago on my trip to Australia. :)

How do you use horsetail and burdock and do you know which parts of the plants you are using ? We have a lot of horsetail and burdock growing here aswell as chamomile which I've been thinking of drying for tea and I was thinking of going for a little gathering mission at some point. Also coltsfoot has been on my list, but since I've been reading that coltsfoot can be somewhat irritating topically and horsetail can be poisonous in larger quantities ingested I haven't dared to try them yet. Burdock root apparently is a common root vegetable in Japan atleast and it seems to be safe, so I might go digging for atleast that one. :)

I take them as pills that I get at my local health food store, and sometimes I take the horsetail as a tea, as well. The reason I settled on these (and sometimes nettle and oatstraw teas also, which I didn't mention before) is that they do double duty by 1) helping with hair growth and 2) functioning in various pain-relief capacities.

I know that the burdock I'm taking is from the root, and I'll have to check my horsetail and my teas. I'm pretty sure the nettle is leaves, the horsetail is either leaves or tender shoots, and the oatstraw is likely stems. If I were going to collect them myself, I would Google everything I could find about it first, just to make sure I didn't make any weird mistakes. :)

Side effects: uncooked nettle stings! If you collect that, wear gloves! It also is a very calming tea. I take it for pain and insomnia (so it could make you sleepy), as well as for long-term hair health. It is a diuretic, so take with lots of water. It may also hinder the absorption of other nutrients due to being a diuretic...
Oatstraw: don't remember any. This tea tastes like crackers to me; I always kind of wish for tomato soup when I drink it. Oh, it could make you a little sleepy, too. It's supposed to keep your hair thick all your life if you drink it every day. But I've fallen off the wagon witH that and nettle because it's so hard to drink tea in the summertime. :p
Burdock: it can make some people break out in pimples. I haven't really noticed anything myself.
Horsetail: contains trace amounts of nicotine, which makes it a very effective pain-relief agent. It can be used as an herbal aid when quitting smoking. I've found that it improves my mood, but that if I take it for too long in a row (in tea form) I get very grumpy if I miss a dose. So now I just save it for emergencies, as pharmaceutical painkillers don't work for me. Also, I read somewhere (can't remember where) that taking horsetail and licorice (which is used to sweeten a lot of teas) can cause "cardiac poisoning". I don't know what that is, or how much of each makes that happen, or even if it's true, but it's something to keep in mind just in case. :) I try to keep horsetail separated from licorice by about 2 weeks if I can help it, at least until I find out whether there really is a danger to it or not.

Thanks a lot for this info! I should read up on the plants I was planning on collecting and then go snip snip out there. I drink tea every day, even in the summer (hot beverages actually are said to cool a person down when hot, but I get mixed results). Usually I drink rooibos tea nowadays (since it's supposed to help some with growth aswell) but I have a lot of dried nettle still left from last year. I am often iron deficient and nettle helps with that so I've tried using it in breads and pancakes on top of my AVC rinse (with rooibos and parsley atm). Nettle has quite a strong taste and smell to me but I haven't actually tried drinking it as tea. I will now though. :)

Coltsfoot (leaves) is supposed to condition hair in many ways (topically I assumed at first, but it can be used as tea aswell). For example in this article it's mentioned as a herb for dry hair, helping with hairloss and faster growth and with dandruff problems. I was thinking of maybe collecting some and using it in my ACV rince. http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=25
It's also used commonly as a cough medicine and to treat lung problems when brewed to tea sweetened with honey or liqorice (helps with colds and asthma) or when smoked as herbal tobacco.

I love rooibos tea! I try to drink it every day, as well. (I kind of drink a lot of tea.) But it's been in the 100s (Farenheit) here the past 3 weeks, and drinking anything warm has been miserable. Normally I'm cold enough to just drink it anyway, but not this year!

Thank you for the article link! I may have to try that for my dandruff. :)

I don't know if I can do waist by Christmas 2012, but I believe I can reach hip, at least stretched, by the end of 2013. *goes to do math* OK, barring trims, I can make it to hip by Dec 2013, dry and curly! And then TBL will only be about 2" away.

Hehehe :)

and guys! I have a sig pic! it shows my length when dry (though this was after it was bunned and brushed out to show more of my length, but still, dry :p)
But how do I get it bigger? My pic isn't that small on paint but when I upload it.. it looks TINY.
(I also have a temporary brown wash out colour on to hide my 3-4inches of regrowth and brassy length)

EDIT: fixed the sizing problem. I didn't add a waist marker since I have a pretty obvious waist line! haha
EDIT x2: And since this is this Hip in 2013 thread, I may as well add that where I'm calling hip on me is about an inch above my pants in my sig pic :)

I'm figuring I'll be nearly waist by December, and have a solid waist by January (If I can resist trimming ).

Maybe by December 2013 I'll be around hip :D

Even if I'm not, as long as I'm past waist, my hair will be longer than it ever has before. At that point, I would be deeply satisfied with the length, and not as anxious as I am now. Even now (I just noticed some growth a few minutes ago :) ) I'm not nearly as upset about my length as I was before.

The longer it gets, the happier I am!

I've just about hit waist (straightened) so I'm hoping to hit curly/natural waist by christmas and then slowly approach hip during 2013 with plenty of trims to remove damage. I'd like to be at 'healthy' hip by the end of 2013 and at the moment have no plans to grow past that point

And it's waist to hip by any time next year :) I was thinking about making it for this time next year but thought it was better to have the deadline at the end of the year. But reaching hip any time in 2013 is counted. But if your going to make it by the end of this year even better for you!

My personal goal is by September 4th 2013 (my 20th birthday).

"Hip by 2013 anyone?"

*Raises hand eagerly* "Meeee meeeee! I wanna!" :yumm:

Hip is my ultimate goal and I've *just* learned that I'm technically waist, still long ways to go to reach 'solid' waist. It feels a bit strange to be at 'waist' yet not feel like I've reached waist ... oh well.

I just measured my hair and my hair is at about 28 1/2 - 28 3/4" = 73-74cm (I always have trouble measuring my length. I think hip will be at about 33-34" (86-87cm). So, to be optimistic, I'm hoping for solid hip by summer 2013, if I don't expect some strange shed/split ends/growth stall.

Realistic? I hope so :D

Happy and lucky growing everyone!

I'm hoping to be hip length by next year some time. Right now it's at 31 inches. It's grown a half inch since I joined LHC. So, I should have no problem getting to hip length by next Christmas. Maybe even a little longer.

I don't remember if I posted in here. I'm not at waist yet, but I have 6 inches to hip, maybe 7. If I don't trim I should be there at the end of March or April. It will look hip in July 2013.

I measured and I'm 3/4" closer... :) It makes me wonder how often everyone changes their "current length" number. I haven't seen anyone with 30 3/4" long hair, so it's probably too soon to change it. :D

I definitely think I could reach hip by at least December 2013 (hopefully sooner but I don't know exactly my growth each month). I am sure if I keep up good care and don't get any huge trims I can make it :P

*assuming I grow at least .5 each month and I don't cut hardly anything off I will definitely make it by december!

I'm hoping for Hip by June of 2013. I should be at Waist around October 2012 and Hip in only about 3-4" from Waist on me. I'm a teacher, so I'm kind of hoping to hit Hip by the end of the upcoming school year. I tend to measure time by school year terms...

I'm joining this. lol I think i might be very close to hip length already [according to one girl's report of what hip-length is I'm already there], but my hair is curly, so with shrinkage, it still looks like it's at waist. I'm hoping for it to *look* like it's hip length by this time next year... Which i think is another 4 inches at least.

I'm not sure how many inches I have to go until hip, but I'm at 30" now, which is 1/2" past waist. Maybe I can make hip by next Christmas... Hip is the longest I've ever grown, and it would be nice to be back at hip!

Yesterday my hair felt long, almost at hip, today, when I look in the mirror I've got the impression that I'm barely past waist. Braid waves, or what? The latest pics, however, look pretty good, length-wise. (Let's forget the dry ends.) I'm so past-waist, that it can't even be called so. Not yet "almost hip", though. It's maybe 60% of the way.

I put this on the waist to Christmas thread for those of us who are visual, so I'll "adapt" it for this thread too!!!

Let's see.....4 months and one half....potentially 4 1/2 inches...or 2 1/4 or hopefully somewhere in between!

----------------- 1 INCH

---------------------------------- 2 INCHES

--------------------------------------------------- 3 INCHES

-------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 INCHES

so for hip length by December 2013, if we grow an inch a month it would be 16 inches!!!! 4 X the last line!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crazy long, eh?!!!

Or if only 1/2 an inch a month, we would grow 2xthe last line:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (this much) still a lot of growth!!!!

Just measured today and I've grown my good ol' and trusted 1/2" in a month, which puts me at a smidgen over 29". So yeah, this time next year I should be at a comfortable hip length. :D I'm fine with that ...

I just measured today as well (after a very long time of not doing any measuring) and I was so happy and surprised to see that I was at 33" already when straight! That means I'm just an inch or an inch and a half away from full hip length! :D Of course, now I'm wondering if I stay on this thread until then, or if I stay until I'm at hip length when curly... :hmm: Any other curlies have this dilemma? :p

I checked my body measurements that I did long ago and tailbone is at 36", so I know that hip is somewhere between 30" (where I am at now) and 36". Not so helpful, but I do know that means that I can make it to hip next year no problem! Maybe even tailbone!!!! Depends on how much I trim. And if my hair doesn't reach terminal length!

I can't believe this - I'm at hip... and it isn't even 2013 yet. How did that happen?!!

I kept thinking I must be, because I kept catching up my hair in my jeans. And of course that could only happen if my hair was longer than where my belt falls... which is right above hip. I've checked it several times now, and yes, it's at hip. Can't take a picture right now (it's dark) but tomorrow I'll try and get a photo and then post a link to my website or something.

Of course I'm going to spoil it all by doing a dusting real soon, so I think I will keep following this thread, and continue to cheer everybody else on. Grow, people, grow! :cheer::cheer:

MissCoco, thanks for the compliment. I didn't see it yet because of the crash. If my hair was darker we'd be hairtwins, I think.

I'm a little over 34" now (hip length is ~36" on me). I'd like to do some trimming, since I technically layered the bottom part of my hair to get rid of some nasty velcro ends and my hair isn't thick enough to look good with so much taper.

Pushing for hip in March 2013 and blunt hip somewhere between October and the turn of 2014! Yay!

I'm currently at waist 26.5 inches. I'm hoping to make it to hip by mid 2013. Hip on me is 29 inches.

I'm trimming regularly. My hair is very fragile and needs to be trimmed every 2-3 months. So that cuts back getting to hip quickly back considerably.

I get so frustrated with my hair. I have reached hip 3 times now and every time I have had to cut back to waist. I'm hoping my regular trims will keep my hair nice. So far I'm very pleased :) My hair is blunt and not getting thin. I think this time round I will make it and keep it ! :)

Wishing you all lots of growing xx

I'm currently (still) at a solid waist.
If my hair behaves, I'll be more than happy to aim for hip length in 2013!

Once I've reached hiplength I'll maintain to get rid of my henna, and let my hair thicken up.
That is, if telogen effluvium won't bite me again. After maintaining at waist (and even shorter) for almost 1.5 year, I am really looking forward to longer lenghts again :)

Just measured in at 33 inches. I'm not entirely sure where hip is on me though. I'm thinking it's somewhere between 35 and 37 inches, so considering that I'm usually lucky to get .5 inches in a month I might not be solidly there by June after all. I'll get there sometime next year though!

I would like to get to hip sometime next year... but we will see. I have had several big sheds, and thus a LOT of taper... I cut of heaps and heaps last year to get rid of the taper I had then... but it's back. I'm not sure whether I'll just hit waist and maintain for a while to thicken the ends... OR if I just shoot for hip and be done with it?! It will be years before it's reasonably thick and even THEN if it just STOPS SHEDDING!! I am trying to just forget about it, forget how thin it is, and just leave it the heck alone!!

I'd love to get to hip. I had intended to get to waist then maintain to get rid of the bleached bits but now I'm brushing waist and it's just not long enough! The longer it gets the shorter it feels, so I'm aiming for hip next year with minimal trims. It's about 4 - 5 inches away I think so I think I will manage it just about. Then 3 years of evening up and getting rid of bleach, I swear. I really shouldn't grow longer than hip, it would be impractical, this is what I shall have to tell myself this time next year when I see a group about TB length in 2014. I do not want to sit on my hair, I do not want to sit on my hair, I do... etc etc. If I keep saying it I may actually believe it...

I'd love to get to hip in 2013, if possible. I am about 3/4 of an inch away from waist (when wet) so hopefully I should be at hip by the end of 2013. I originally planned to maintain at waist, but I want to try out hip and see how I like it! I can always cut back if I want to (I doubt it, though).

Right now I'm aiming for waist, but since I've decided no trims in 2013, I think I might just pull off hip too :)

Right now, my hair is about 25.5", and hip is about 34", so I'd need 8.5" in fourteen months. I'll almost certainly make it if I can keep away from the scissors!

This shall be my goal for the next year I think I'm about an inch away from being solidly at waist but I'll take a length shot for everyone and ask you guys. Then hip is only another four inches so I should make it, just barely even if I get a 1/2" trim on my birthday which I hope to be my only trim next year.
