Hi all

Does anyone know of a natural, mild shampoo that also contains salicylic acid (and doesn't contain any sulfates)? I've been trying to find one, but the ones I have found in the UK (e.g. Neutrogena T/Sal) contain harsh chemicals that would dry out my sensitive, contact-eczema prone scalp. I can buy online if not sold in the UK.

Thanks!

Like this? I actually use this one once or twice a week and have had NO problems with it drying out my hair or causing itchy scalp. I also have eczema, this works well! I added a few drops of peppermint EO and a few drops of tea tree oil to this formula for a little scent and love it. The unscented formula truly has no scent at all.

Edit - I bought mine at Whole Foods and have seen it since then at other stores. End Edit.

Sorry love, none come to mind, but I went through an insane bout of seborrheic dermatitis earlier this year and crushed a bit of aspirin into my cleanser for a salicylic wash. I'm not sure what the effect would be on an eczema-prone scalp though.

Thanks patienceneeded, this is exactly what I had in mind! Although a stronger salicylic acid (3%) would be preferable, but this is definitely on the right track. I've added it to my wishlist :)

Have you tried applying a liquid salicylic acid to your scalp with a cotton ball? Like this - http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/skin-perfecting-two-percent-bha-liquid/bha-aha-exfoliants

And I just wanted to say how adorable your kitten avatar photo is! Made me smile.

I have considered buying salicylic acid from eBay and some other members have recommended rubbing aspirin into the scalp. Think I would prefer to use pure salicylic acid though. Perhaps I could buy it pure and then add to my shampoo or simply apply with cotton ball like you said.

Thanks! I love kittens but alas, my DH is allergic so have to compensate by using cute kitten pics for my avatars :)
