Two-year LHC anniversary (picture heavy)

Yep, this week is my two-year anniversary on here. Yikes, time flies. It's now more three years since I cut my hair to shoulder length, and according to the crowd in the waist-to-hip thread I've actually graduated from there now! I'm due for a trim soon, though, so I don't count myself to be properly at hip yet. Anyway, progress pictures:

My ponytail circumference is between 2.5 and 2.75 inches, which makes for a braid like this:

And to balance out the good hair shots, this is what my hair generally looks like when it's down and hasn't just been brushed. Excepting the bottom half blurriness, this is probably one of the most accurate shots taken of my hair all year. *g*

Last year I said I was going to keep growing until after summer and come September maybe start to maintain. Well, that didn't happen. :p And I'm not going to say the same this year, because while I'm not going all the way to tailbone I think I'd like another couple of inches - perhaps I'll get there at some point this autumn. After that it's time to enter the maintaining phase. I'm looking forward to it!

Thank you so much, everyone! :flower: It's been a fun hair year. Still wish I could get back that half inch I've lost in thickness since I joined, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Heh, yeah, I started doing those shots after I hit waist to be able to track my progress properly. I tend to be a little obsessive when it comes to continuity. ;)

Thank you! I've actually been quite surprised by how relatively even my braid is. There is definitely some taper, obviously - if I do a side braid and braid it as far as I can the circumference below the elastic is just under an inch and a half - but I'm pleased that it seems to be limited to this at the moment.

I'm going to try really hard to just ignore my hair for a while now. Less fiddling, more leaving it alone and give it the chance and time to get those last couple of inches that I'm aiming for.
