Hey guys :),

I have a question...recently, I have started to want dark red hair. Now, my hair currently is lets say middle brown, slightly orang-ish but definitely not as much in my siggy. I hear you, henna you say....well, I really like henna, I had few tries, and my siggy is right after my first proper application. Eventhought I liked the colour, now I want something a bit different. Before I wanted my hair to be lighter and copperish, now I want deep, dark red, someting along these lines.

Any idea how to achieve it? I am not against henna, but it gave me more cooperish then I want now. I used Lush Rouge. I am considering even chemical colour for the first time in my life.

Any ideas, tips, sugestions?

How about using something like manic panic, which won't damage your hair, and will wash out so you can see if you like the colour? If you want a permanent colour have a look at direct deposit dyes as they are nondamaging but can still be very vibrant.

Manic Panic!

Their Vampire Red is nearly *exactly* like the colour you want. If you want a longer lasting veg dye, try stargazer, they've got even greater variety of colours. :)

Lush henna is usually not nearly as potent as BAQ henna, I would recommend that you try repeated applications of good quality Yemeni for a true darker red.
Until henna builds up enough, you can also use semi permanent gentle dyes like Manic Panic.

You may want to try one of these products as you are located close to them or they may be available where you live. Their colors are much closer to what you showed in your picture. HTH.

Thank you for tips :)

What are direct deposit lines?

I am not sure if you can get Manic Panic around here, I live in Prague. What kind of colour is that?

What I was thinking of is this http://www.syoss.de/index.php?id=136&L=1 which is what I can get here, but I have NO idea what it would do to my hair. Does any one have experience with these colours?

I think henna can get you pretty close, but henna is permanent. It builds up after each application until your hair gets "full" and can't take up any more. I think most people get a dark burgundy or dark red when their hair reaches saturation. You'll probably need to henna several times to get it nice and dark.

Just want to say, I tried to achieve deep, dark red with henna. And henna and indigo. I got nowhere close, even after more than a dozen full head applications with baq yemeni henna. Indigo in the mix didn't help either. The henna stops building up colourwise at a certain point, even if you don't get your desired colour, you will definitely feel the build-up in your hair. In the end, my hair felt horrible and was a horrible colour because of the henna. And I think we might have similar hair color to start with.

So Manic Panic or normal chemical is a much better alternative, easier to get rid off too.

My mother uses Syoss dye, not in this color, in a blonde color, but she's told me it's the mildest of dyes she's ever used - even though it is a chemical, permanent color!
