The three awful musketeers one might say. Ever since my hair has grown longer my scalp has started forming dandruff that isn't your usual flakes- its more heaps. I get random 'ring' patches too with flakes and my mother believes its due to not letting my scalp receive enough air circulation. I wear my hair up most of the time but there are women on here and men alike who perform the 365 day wear hair up challenge quite fine without this mess. Some advice would be appreciated :) thanks! X

It could be yeast or a fungal infection. Have you tried diluted vinegar rinses?

I'm going to be completely honest right now the answer is no, thank you for such a swift reply very much appreciated. I have investigated into fungal infections and spoken to some of my peers (we study this sort of thing) and this was the general conclusion:
It arrived since I stopped preening and switched to a WTC
It came after a month of continously wearing hair up
I used my father's anti-fungal shampoo (not T gel or head and shoulders, a prescribed anti-fungal shampoo) for a while, nothing happened
Then I concluded it could be psoriasis, as it is itchy too and very scaly.
I have not performed an acid rinse as I am clumsy and I know I will either be unsatisfied with it or do it wrong :P x

If you can get an applicator bottle, or even one from Walmart that is for condiments or salad dressing, put one inch of white vinegar, fill the rest with water. After washing your hair, squeeze this dilution onto your scalp until saturated. You don't even have to rinse it off, but you can if you want. Since you tried the anti-fungal shampoo, try the vinegar for a week or two. If it doesn't help, then go to a Dr.

Have you been putting hair up while still wet or damp? You could have developed a yeast infection if your scalp never gets to dry properly. If you have reason to believe it may be something else, like excema, psoriasis, etc., then you will probably need to see a dr.

I have been damp bunning lately , I didn't even consider it and you're probably right its more than likely a yeast infection. (Doh!), I'm going to give the acid rinses a try and if this does not work I shall persist with this to Doctor Becker :D thanks!
