Not sure the pics do them justice! They are both sono wood with paua shell inlay and I fell in love with them at first site. Off to figure out new hairstyles....

I need to have DH take pics - the one's with my phone are horrid. 'Cause, of course, that's the first thing I did was try out my toys and take pics...

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments.

Now that I have these, how do I care for them? Since they are wood, do I oil them? wax them? just admire them??

Oh how pretty, congratulations on your soon to be new addiction! :D

For my wood toys, I just wipe them down with a damp cloth as needed, with good polishing they shouldn't need much upkeep.

I got some Baerreis wooden hair sticks, which came with instructions to rub them down with what ever you would use to moisturize your lips every few months. (?)

I bought them on Ebay; a seller called piercingisland. They have a fairly large selection (I think! I'm still new at this though....) and they are beautiful...

Congrats! Yes, I know that seller, in fact my very first sticks that were not homemade came from him, well technically from superschoen01 located in Germany, but it's the same shop. The ones (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=2119856&postcount=58) with steel inlay.

Those are really lovely, love the shell inlay. Very pretty :)

I've bought some stuff from the same seller!

My first hair toys included a few like that, from Leginayba on Etsy. I just love the way the paua shell looks against the dark sono wood. So pretty! They're a bit on the fragile side (and yours look to be almost identical, so do be warned about that), but they're not bad for the price, you know?

If/when you decide you want to spend a little more, some of the popular hairfork makers here include a ton of etsy sellers - I personally own and love items from Grahtoe Studios and Jeterforks. They're much more sturdy, solid forks. Jeterforks starts a lot cheaper than Grahtoe Studios, but I think both artisans make lovely pieces.

I can see how you can start off with a couple of accessories and all of a sudden, your collection needs it's own shelf (or two) in the bathroom. So worth it though!

Thank you, again, everyone, for your advice and comments.
