I must have weak neck and scalp muscles as I am prone to tension headaches easily do to updos that include more than 1/4 of my hair.

But as you read in the title of this little blurb I have found a solution. Sort of. Or at least a little coping mechanism.

If you suffer as I do but still want to wear your hair up esp. if it's' hot then you might want to try this.

I did a bun because it's easy but an do where all of the hair is on top of your head will do.

10 mins before I styled my hair I took 2 aleve.

So far 30 mins later only mild achiness.

And I figured while the aleve is working on my headache and my hair is up I am building scalp muscles and neck muscles.

heres some pics................

Looks nice! I hope you get some relief. It took me a lot of adjusting to train my scalp and neck to get used to having my hair up more frequently. Now I can usually go about 12 hours without any headache or neck pain. :)

Good luck!

I'm to that point yet but I will keep it in mind. I've heard of people having headaches do to hair pulling.

It's great that you've found something that works!

Do you do neck stretches? I hear that if you do them regularly it helps reduce the frequency and intensity of tension headaches, so they might help with your problem.

That is a really pretty updo! I like how you made it look softer even with a top-of-the-head bun.

I'm kind of glad to hear that this is a common occurrence and it's not just only happening to me.

So, if you start to wear your hair up more often, can your scalp get used to the tension? Or should I be taking ibuprofen every time? D:

I don't know if one can train ones scalp and neck to handle the tension but I am sure gonna try.
