I finally did it! My hair is blue...and black! *a little pic heavy*

So I've been wanting to dye my hair teal for a long time now but I was afraid of killing my hair to get all the red out. But I finally just went for it the other night and to save myself from having to bleach (ahhh taboo here I know) my whole head I decided to be creative and go half black. I love it! And my hair is a trooper because even on the side that I bleached it looks and feels healthier than it has in ages.

These pictures are awful and I'm wearing no makeup but I just snapped a few quick ones to show you guys so forgive me, hopefully I can take better ones in the near future:

Thankyou! And good question. That would be a great thread to start if there isn't one already. I had a very specific color in my head so I had to make my own. I ended up using a crazy mix of Manic Panic turquoise, shocking blue, lizard green and then Raw twisted teal. I only used a little of turquoise and half a jar of green. I wouldn't usually use manic panic but I had them all already so I figured Id use them up first before buying Special Effects colors. I have a ton left over for touch ups now too :D.

I wanted to go teal and black for years but the damage that bleach causes is not worth it IMO and due to previous colourings I would need to apply it several times at 40 percent peroxide to even get the lift to apply the teal. I wanted my sidefringe to be teal, with teal tips around the feathering of my face and then the rest of my hair to be black. You've done a really good job though I just can't bring myself to jeprodise my hair due to bleaching again, but cudos to you for having the bravery to do it, looks amazinnggg <3

What blue did you use? I do my daughters hair blue and we tend to use Directions hair colour over a bleached base. They're quite messy to use but the colour are lovely and vivid as is yours. We're always on the look out for new brands to try.

Thankyou :). I actually used a crazy mix of manic panic lizard green i think it was, atomic turquoise and shocking blue. And then a whole tube of RAW twisted teal. I just mixed them together since I had them already and wanted to use them up. Usually I wouldn't use manic panic because it has aweful staying power. But so far my color is staying quite well, I'll attribute that to the RAW I put in there. When I use up all the leftovers I'm going to get special effects because it's suppose to be the longest lasting brand. I want to get their sonic green and turquoise and mix it together :).

I have already bleach-damaged ends (and quite some virgin roots) so I'm using veggie dyes to sort of entertain me as I grow out the bleach. I just fade the veggie dyes naturally or using things like clarifying shampoos and baking soda, but the orange I have at the moment seems to take longer to fade than other colours I've done before. I just need a little patience!
