where do I put the measuring tape? At the point of the v? or where my hairline would be if it were a straight? (That's a question that would never have occurred to me 3 months ago!)

I have one too & measure from where my hairline would start if it didn't peak. :)

It doesn't really matter for most of us. Measuring LHC style can have about +/- 1 inch of variation with good technique and fairly straight hair, and more if you're not really fussy about technique. So your widow's peak is not adding a whole lot to the error potential.

I think it doesn't matter that much, as long as you measure the same way every time.

I'd say measure in the same place every time.

I'd say start at where you're hair starts growing from the scalp- that way, if your peak changes, you won't be like, "What the what?! My hair shrank half an inch in a month?!" But, that's just me (I would also end up measuring fom a differnt point every month anyways!). :)

This. I have a widow's peak too, and I include it when measuring because it's easier for me to measure from the same spot then :)

I always wanted a widow's peak. Random thought. Back to homework. For real this time.

Same for me, it's an easy marker - and it never changes, so...

Thank you for all your replies. I guess the consensus is to choose a spot and measure consistently. I'm new and have only measured 2 months in a row, and both times from the peak so I think I will continue - it's an easy marker!
I have to say that it is nice to have someplace to post a hair question to - I have no one to ask in "real" life.
