View Full Version : Good grief - bad hair days

It's humid and hot. I went to sleep with wet hair. I'll be along in a few minutes with a picture, but I look like I stuck my finger in a light socket.

...this board needs more pictures of more bad hair days. It'd do wonders for egos. Clearly I'm going to put my head on that alter, and will dig up old photos shortly, too. I would not turn down company/other people sharing, for sure.

My photographer isn't home from work yet (...I can't take pictures of the back of my own head), so until then, please.

Amuse yourself with this:

This was taken 2 years ago, I think. ...I was surprised six months later to realize my hair wasn't straight. I don't know why, either.

Oh and then there was really fun point where, in a desperate bleach-a-thon to get an unnatural red out of my hair I ended up with this:

That was worse than a bad hair day, though. That was a bad hair six months.

This is natural, air-dried hair; the worst "bad hair day" I ever documented.
(My goth niece graciously did my makeup to match my hair.)

I can not tell you how much I love this picture. I just - I love it. The facial expression makes it, too.

All right, the photographer came home.

So, here we go.

This is what I woke up with this morning. I was kind of horrified, but I WAITED ALL DAY to document it. My hair is wider than my body here. And I do not have a skinny body.

Then I wet it down, used some oil, and feel slightly less... Um. Whatever that is. My pride demanded I document that one, too.

This is my hair every day.

You never have a problem with volume?

The after oiling part is stunning, though!

That part I'm happy with!

...I do not know WHAT I was doing in my sleep last night, but it must have been active! (Thank you!)

Between the wind, my crappy dye job, and the poor care I took of my hair back then, I'm pretty sure that the entire year I spent in Norway was one long bad-hair day.

I'm not sure really how to post pictures on here but I can provide a link - this (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=441300640361&set=a.481955575361.272271.648860361&type=3&theater) was what my hair looked like almost every morning when I woke up about 2 years ago when I was still in the Army. I kinda like the picture though, it shows how much of a morning person I really am :D

Wow! Just wow at the after picture though!! It looks amazing. Just oil and water did that? May I ask what kind of oil you used? I could live with the before picture if my hair looked like that with just water and oil :D

I agree; the "after" picture is beautiful.

Just water and oil. I wet my hands down (several times, actually), finger combed through and then scrunched with coconut oil. Easy peasy.

If the albums were working, I might upload a picture of one of my sad peacock twist attempts with 40% of my hair falling out of it and bobby pins haphazardly stuck all over my head.

...There's always tinypic.com just take the url it gives you and plug it into the photo button (the box with a mountain on it, at the top of the reply box) >.> Not that I'm encouraging people to show us bad hair or anything.

I am! More bad hair pictures, please!

(We used to have a bad hair day thread a long time ago.)

I found that thread - it looked like wicked fun. As well as a good reality check.

(P.S Photobucket also works really well. >.>)

I can't figure out who is supposed to be the bad hair day?

Although I've had much worse hair days, I must have done the right thing and avoided cameras, but this is a pic of my hair for quite a few years, long, bleached blonde, it looked and felt awful. I cringe looking at the top because it was getting that white, tinged green thing going on, oh and with the dark regrowth, mmm very nice..

I had no idea at the time, but this was a bad hair YEAR. This is from 8th grade, lol.

I always have a problem with volume! But my hair's exactly the right color that any oil at all makes it look greasy, so there's not much I can do about it. But that's what updos are for, right? And by classic length at least, the weight of my hair will make it less wide than my body, so it's just a matter of waiting long enough.

Ultrabella, that's GLORIOUS :D

UB, you mall hair is mighty impressive. I agree that GLORIOUS is an apt description. I loved flipping through a friend's early 90s yearbook from California, it was a sea of teenage girls and glorious, glorious mall rat hair.

I will go dig up my mushroom head from an old drivers license.....

ETA: Damn, I can't find my mushroom head :(

Yeah, me too. Big bangs, quite the trend in the eighties. O God, the eighties. That was one big hair disaster.
