View Full Version : Typeing my hair - need help (pictures)

I found it very difficult to type my baby fine, layered hair. After the trim (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=2089623&postcount=28) I decided to try again.

Air-dried, freshly washed hair, no combing.

Combed (no product, just dry, combed hair)

My hair before the trim a few months ago

and combed

Mind that my hair is veeeeery fine (I must take a macro picture of my hair and my husband's hair - it's like four times coarser!)

Am I 1a, 1b or else?

Thank you for help :*

I would put your hair at 1b. Very lovely :)

I'm going with 1C. I see a slight, subtle wave pattern going on there, still visible after combing.

I'd go 1b/1c. :)

I would say 1b only because the wave pattern is very slight. Lovely, sleek, shiny hair, by the way! :)

I think it's 1b or 1b/1c. :) Your hair has lovely shine.

I'd agree with most of the other posters so far - 1b. I guess at the outside it could be 1b/1c, but I think 1b is more accurate.

Your hair looks very silky!

Thank you :)

So I'm definitely not a 1a or 1a/1b... I'm almost ready to change my profile description ;)

1b - straight but with a slight body wave, just enough to add some volume, doesn't look wavy

1c - straight with body wave and one or two visible S-waves (e.g. nape of neck or temples)
According to the descriptions I would go with the 1b (not 1b/1c nor 1c) but according to the photos on the page (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=227) I would say my uncombed hair looks like 1b/1c/F/ii ginger hair. When combed it looks like 1b/M/ii black hair...

I always wear my hair combed just in case it is important ;)

I'd tend to go with 1c. It looks like it's fairly easy for you to get a wavy or voluminous appearance, and to me that argues for 1c.

Am I the odd one out with 1b leaning towards 1a?

hahah xD

I see that my hair seems to be very confusing xD

It is true that my hair is prone to get a pattern, I mean when it's left flat it is flat when it's braided or in a bun it gets volume and 'slight body wave' and holds it even when combed. I think it is because it is soooo fine and delicate.

When you get more of your hair to be all one length, it'll be beautiful hair and quite a statement. You're well on your way. Keep up the effort. It's paying off.

I'd chip in with 1b/1c because of the slight wave visable, yours doesn't just bend at the tips or have volume, there is an actual S bend in it.

Really pretty hair.

I think I'd call it 1b. It's leaning toward 1b/1c to me, but I suspect that's just because different sections are bending different ways, making it look more wavy when really the ends just curve.

Hrm, my hair won't hold a pattern if you pay it most of the time. What I meant with the voluminous appearance thing is that layering seems to bring out the waves, and going blunt minimizes them.

That said, there is a definite variation in terms of how amenable hair is to being styled. Some folks can perm their hair or use chemical straighteners and get a pretty strong effect. Others have their hair just laugh at the idea (that's mine!). Some hair types get on fairly well with heat styling, and others just laugh (also mine!). Mine even tends to laugh at more traditional things like pin curls.

I think I will go with the 1b. After the April trim I have almost no layers but the hem is not 100% blunt. When I have it cut 100% blunt we will see, I might change it to 1b/1c or even 1c because my hair feels very light and fluffy, I mean with volume, now when long (I'm APL+ for the first time in my life!).

Thank you :)
