Hi everyone!

I'm doing my friend's hair for her senior dance! She has a long, just past shoulder-length bob with sideswept bangs. She doesn't know what she wants, and I'm having a hard time thinking of ideas. I don't want to just curl it or do a typical updo with curls, because the dress is off the shoulder, and I don't want it to look dated or 80s.
This is the dress: https://www.jessicamcclintock.com/product/prom-short-prom-dresses-54721

Any advice for a modern, pretty hairdo that will go with that style of dress?

NB: It might also be helpful to note that this is for a college senior formal, not a high school prom.

A French twist with some decorations in the pleat. Or maybe a peacock twist with the ends curled or spiked? A gibson tuck with a modern barrette.

look through her (http://www.youtube.com/user/lilithedarkmoon) youtube channel, it might help. I've done almost every single one of her hairdo's and get a lot of complements!

I think an updo would look great with that dress though!

I think a simple hairstyle (like a french twist) would help to showcase the dress the best.

I'd say a french twist.

How about a tucked french braid with a couple of loose wisps at the front?
