Today I bring you...

Headband Curls!

For those who are unfamiliar, there are tons of youtube videos detailing the how-to. Basically you wrap your hair around a headband, piece by piece. The headband is worn hippie style, like this: (not my picture)

The biggest plus of this method is it's a total breeze to sleep on--unlike Curlformers, Wrap, Snap and Go, or even multiple buns. I couldn't feel this at all, and as you can see, an added bonus is it's a protective sleeping style! It didn't budge all night. It also took about 5 minutes to create.

So, after you wrap it, you spritz with water (and product if you so desire) and uncoil in the morning.

These were my results! I'm *pretty* happy with it, but as you can see the ends are a bit unkempt/straight, still. I'm certain this was my fault, perhaps I didn't tuck them properly. I'll try again and post my second attempt but would love to hear from anyone who's used this method about why this might have happened:

This is what the curls look like up close. They are loopy and beach-y and thus far (3 hours in) have not wilted.

Hooray for easy to sleep in curling methods!!!:joy:

Looks good!

I haven't tried it, but maybe it would work better if you spritz each pieces as you wrap it, instead of at the end.

Nice! :) I'd try spritzing as you go too, maybe then the ends will curl a little more. Don't make it too damp, though, or it won't dry totally.

Thanks guys, this is a good point. I think I was worried it would still be damp in the morning, since the times I've sprayed before bunning, the inner bun is damp. After rolling I realized that quite a bit of air gets through, though. I will spritz before hand tonight!

I totally thought you were presenting a new hairstyle! It looks really pretty :)
The soft curls suit you, and this sounds anything but uncomfortable, however I can't imagine doing that once your hair is past waist length even if it's fine.

I know, I thought about that. At APL I had limited real estate left on the headband once I was done. If anyone with much longer hair has attempted this, please chime in!

Phexlyn, I thought the first pictures were the hairstyle itself, as well! Hehe :)
I like it a lot both ways, in the headband and your resultant curls.
