Another post just for fun!

I don't think I ever got a chance to share on here when I went redhead...

I've always wanted to be a redhead, but I am also fond of my natural color. So, one day I randomly decided I would experiment. I grabbed a willing friend and (3 bottles of) semi-permanent dye. The bathtub looked like a scene from a horror film. I was so scared because I had virgin hair and whatnot. I was worried if I'd look ridiculous with this new color. It was crazy to see how people responded differently to me when I had the red hair as opposed to the blonde hair. Ultimately the color lasted for about a month, but I'm thinking about doing it again sometime just or kicks. Haha.

As the color washed out, I had this:

(Sorry I don't have better pics!)

Anyhow, I was wondering if any of you have ever dyed your hair another color on a whim? Feel free to post pics!

Also, if you've had different hair colors, have you ever noticed people treated you differently? If so, how?

Your hair is so pretty. What color did you use? I wonder if it would tint my dark hair any. I dont want dark red, just the copper blond kinda like yours..

Well thank you! Let me get back to ya on that one, I can't exactly remember, but I picked it up at a Sally's....and it was like a combination color so that's why I picked it! I used it on my little sister who has darker hair than me and she got this result (kinda tinted):

(I don't know if the picture is really clear, but yah....)

Very nice! It does suit you! Is your avatar you? Is that what you currently look like because I like the brown on you in that case.

I believe it was: Clairol Beautiful Collection Semi-Permanent Moisturizing Hair Color in the color Cedar Red Brown!

My bangs, ends and two stripes of my hair up front are bleached (yeah, yeah, I know) and usually blue or, occasionally, purple. I *do* get reactions from it, but to my amazement and delight...

The reactions I get most are from older people coming up to me with absolute *delight* at the color. I've never been approached and chatted at by more people - but most of them are in their 70s and 80s. It's just... wonderful.

My avatar is me! My hair is a dark blonde, but in that picture it looks brown because of some filter. My hair color is actually more like my signature pic!

But thank you! I experimented with brown semi-permanent and for some reason it washed out in pretty much one day!

Compared to my natural color, which is more like:

Yah it does, and the best part about it was that when it started to wash out of her hair, it gave her that tinted effect, whereas my hair progressed from red, to orange, to strawberry blonde, etc.

I think the red was Stunning! But the chocolate brown in the avatar is super too. And you wear blonde as well!?! I worked with a girl that, like you, looked so natural in blonde, red, and brown..her complexion just went with everything. You've got that trait too...but, tell us more about how people treated you with the various colors... That sounds soon interesting, like a social experiment lol. I am curious if you experienced any Ginger predjudice? Sometimes I think it is out there, since I hennaed a year ago...but maybe I imagined it.

Thank you! You are too kind!:o

I only got to be a brunette for about a day, sadly, before it washed out, but I might try again. And I think it was definitely a social experiment for me going redhead. I can say that people treated me..."carefully". As a blonde, people were never hesitant to talk to me or anything. I noticed increasingly when I would attend classes and whatnot as a redhead, people were less inclined to talk to me. I don't know if it's because they thought I was going to be "fiery" or if they thought I was unusual because I had red hair, but it was definitely a palpable difference in energy for me. Then again, I could've completely imagined it and thought I was an awesome, redhead bad*** worthy of inspiring fear and awe to the masses! :bowtome::bowtome::bowtome:

So pretty, the red hair looked awesome on you! I'm a natural blonde myself, and I'm currently growing out my henndigo and replacing it with henna. Dark brown hair and orange-red roots, looks pretty neat in braids :p

I used to use red temporary color that washes out in about 6 washes. Now I like to use fantasy colors; I really like the Punky brand.

I'll have to check it out, because I think it would be loads of fun to do a bunch of colors on the ends for summer without having to bleach it first! :)

Oh yes! I know what that's like. I had dark blonde roots with red hair...boy was that something.:shake:

My eyebrows too made it look kind of awkward. But, I think you look great with red hair.

Thank you so much! :) I am not very familiar with henna, though I suppose I should check it out since it seems like an alternative for red dye!
